A month ago I picked up a scooter with blown bearings in the "trans".. Some may remember I could not find one of the bearings.. I ended up ordering it from a firm out of England (could not find it locally), and it finally showed up this week.. So after spending 4 hrs on it today, she is riding again.. With some issues..
First, will not go beyond about 20-25 ish.. Could this be due to the fact that my air box is not connected to the carb, I can't get the intake tube to slide over the throat of the carb for the life of me, and I tried everything !!
Second there seems to be a lot of resistance in the rear drive' could the bearings need to break in??? I drove it around 5 miles and I think it was getting better the more I drove it, but maybe it was all in my head.. I'm going to change out the oil and try again tomorrow.,
Glad I got it running again, I'm sure sorting out the odds and ends will be fine.

Yes you are running it to lean and not enough fuel with an open Air Intake. Disconnect the tubing by the AIR box and that will make it much easier to get it on the carb then clamp it down then connect it at the Air Box . Alleyoop

I tried everything, it just does not slip on.. I spent over 30 min trying, and no it should not take that long.. I even cut it try to slip it on and then clamp it, and it still would not really fit.. I'm wondering if the DSPO replaced the carb with another ??

You could always measure to confirm how much difference there is between two?
Whenever I have an old or stubborn rubber fitting that just wont go, I break out the electric heat gun to warm up and soften the rubber a bit. Saves a lot of struggling and cursing.
There should not be a lot of resistance to turning the real wheel. As in you should be able to twirl the clutch bell with one finger. If it's really binding you should investigate further.
