I took my variator apart just now looking for the washer I'm supposed to remove to deregulate my 2010 50cc Eton but there is none. Variator and clutch look great. If I want to upgrade some of these parts do you have any recommendations. Next up... which wire do I need to disconnect from the CDI? Pictures tomorrow for that one.

First not all 50ccs come restricted and the ones that do here are some places they MAY put a restrictor on all to limit the speed of the scoot: 1. Washer between the Variator Plates 2. Smaller Pipe inside the Header pipe right where it connects to the motor 3. A piece screwed under the cover of the Diaphgram to limit the rise of the Needle. 4. A restricted CDI, usually you will find a wire LOOPed coming out from the CDI and BACK into the CDI 5. A Crank rotation Sensor, here you will find wires going down into your CVT hooked up to a sensor. 6. Smaller Main jet Alleyoop

On the older two-stroke minarelli Eton's there was a wire on the CDI to clip. The CDI is a purple-ish or orange-ish box a little bigger than a pack of playing cards attached to the right hip of the frame. If you slip the CDI out of the rubber holder and look at the bottom side there is a wire that appears and disappears out of the black resin. I can't remember if it was pink or green. Just clip it and tape off the ends.
I think there was also a restricter ring welded inside the header pipe. You'll want to dremel that out as well. And then re-tune the mixture to suit.

Thanks for the information. I'll be looking for these things next time I get into it. This is very helpful.
