Hello everyone. My name is Vincent and I run a scooter rental store in Ruidoso, NM. This board has been an invaluable source of information, and I'm surprised it's taken me so long to register. Our company has three dealerships in New Mexico; Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Ruidoso. We've been around 2 years. April-November is the typical rental season in this area, after then it starts to get too cold for anyone to be interested in renting. I recently traveled out here from Florida to get a feel for the job. I figured it would be a good idea to try things out here before we open shop in FL next month. So far it's been a blast and by far one of the best jobs I've had. My store has thirteen TaoTao ATM-50s and one 150cc "Ice Bear" trike. We rent to the locals and tourist in Ruidoso by the hour. People have so much fun on these things, and there are very few incidents. I look forward to absorbing as much as I can from everyone here, and contributing to the best of my abilities. Thanks for checking out my intro, Vince

Welcome to the forum. What part of Florida are y'all looking to open a shop?

Yes, Florida is a good place to setup rentals, you get a lot of tourists and in some places like key-west you have to get around on a scoot. You will find many scoots along the Beach's and they are very strict on speeds. I know my son and his wife moved to Florida and they park their car and rent scoots to get around, PAR-TAY . Good luck and good to have you here. Alleyoop

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. We're based in Miami Beach. We are changing the way the company operates once we get back. Instead of employing dealers and running our own shops we are going to be giving the bikes and all the necessary bits to individuals that already have a business and good location . It's a boost their regular income by renting our bikes out.
