Hey guys, as you may have seen from my other recent post, my engine is out of my scoot preparing for a new BBK. Anyway, I've always had this issue with my scooter, from day one. The belt is vibrating after 25mph all the way through 35 and changes sounds throughout different speeds. I replaced the belt already with a Gates and that made no difference. I currently have a Malossi clutch with the large blue spring in the middle, and white smaller springs around the inside. I took a video of the clutch drive face and it appears to be slightly off or bent. Could this be causing my terrible vibration? I also did not install my Malossi clutch and have never taken the large nut off, so I don't know if everything is setup properly. Here is the video: Video
Thank you in advance. Loving this forum!

I bet in dont help!! Will wait for the pros to chime in....if that is the case what are the downfalls other than some vibes? I may have a similar issue but not quite as bad as yours.

Is it the clutch or the input shaft of the gearbox? How badly grooved are the drive faces? The 25 to 35 mph range makes it sound like the bike was ridden a lot around 30 mph and also has a groove worn in the drive faces.
The vibration can cause all sorts of collateral damage to the bike and really need to be addressed before upgrading the engine with a BBK. At this point it may need a new clutch, variator, belt and gearbox bearings.
Any problems with rear bodywork coming loose or muffler failures?

Are you using Kevlar belts ? I changed out to Bando Kevlar on both of my scoots and they both had a surging vibration where the Gates and CFMoto ( I was told it was made by Bando ) were smooth . The Echarm it did it for a long time but smoothed out a few thousand miles later . Cheap tires will have that effect as they are not balanced . I had mine balanced and WOW waaay more smoother at highway speeds than before

It appears just the Clutch is not rotating straight so I don't believe its the shaft, but grab the bell and see if you can move it up and down and sideways see if the shaft moves. If it doesn't I would put on a New Clutch the splines on the clutch may be rounded off. Alleyoop

Remember that the splines in the shaft only effect the clutch bell as the clutch itself freewheels with the drive faces on the clutch shaft until it is spun up fast enough by the drive belt to throw out the shoes to engage the clutch bell. The sliding sheeve inside the clutch is either worn/out of alignment or the needle bearings are shot (possibly where they ride on the clutch shaft too is worn out).

If you do not catch it in time very little besides replacing the drive faces will fix it afterwards. Glad you got to yours before any major damage was done.

I am using a regular Gates belt. Nothing fancy: linkI checked the shaft for where the clutch sits on, and it does not move at all, no play. I've had exhaust problems from day 1, but the idiot previous owner mounted the exhaust with NO SUPPORT. So I had to weld a bracket onto the muffler. I still have the stock clutch(from previous owner), but I'm not sure its complete. One thing I do know is that my rollers are flat spotted (soon to be replaced). I can take more photos of the clutch faces after work today. My BBK parts should be arriving today as well. Thanks guys this part of my scooter really aggravates me. And leaves me with shaky arms after riding for a while.
