My Adly was not CDI restricted. It was restricted with super heavy CVT rollers and stock exhaust. I put on a Tecnigas Next R pipe and 6gram sliders...after that 45 was easy. When I dropped in a Generic Ebay 70cc BBK it would hit a true GPS 58mph and it cruises nicely now turning 7,500-8,000 rpm(lower rpm when cold out) at 50mph.. The Hoca BBK it now has still runs the same speeds but it has more torque to get me there faster.. A green 'looped' wire I have only seen on a very few older '03-05 Scoots. Like Alleyoop says Pink..Pink is the most common ...at least for customer Scoots that show up at my shop. The horrifically heavy 7.5-8.0 gram weights the Adly comes stock with are in there to keep the engine from revving into its powerband..in my case it is 7,000-10,000rpm. Once the Tach shows 7,000rpm it is like a rocket! It will climb to 9,000rpm at 45..then a few seconds later the slider weights settle in to place...where the rpm's drop to 7,5000 as the speed climbs to 55+mph. The neat thing about the Adlys' is they a bit larger than most Scoots such as the Sunny and ATM styled ones. The 120/70-12 tires give a smoother ride and make it more comfy to sit on...also they are 40lbs lighter than the Handsome Boy style Scoots..but are the same size. As Alleyoop says..look for a Pink wire..but also check and weigh those CVT rollers. Keep in mind that even my stock Adly top end was ported for a high top end and powerband above what the weights allow. Let us know what you find out..

I was going to buy an Adley 2T and my dealer told me to cut the pink wire . I would get a size or two larger main jet in the carb and try lighter sliders . My Jonway Magnum would hit 45 to 50 all day long stock with only going from a 68 MJ toa 75 and NGK iridium at that time . A BBK pipe and rejetting can make it turn into a screamer .

Was that brown wire did it go down into your CVT?
If you can take a picture of your CDI and the wire you took off or cut would be great. I have a folder on how to de-restrict some of the CDIs on different scoots and I will add yours to it and then add the whole lot to the TIPS and TRICKS so others may take advantage of the info.

When new the piston is tight just like new shoes and with more miles it will be broken in and rev up easier just like shoes get comfy after broken in . To break it in try to ride around half of the top speed and go up to maybe 80 % with the RPMs going up and down . Avoid long duration at the same RPM and do not redline it . My Magnum would max out at 8k RPMs and fizzle if I went above it when I went downhill . Mine came with 6g rollers . I tried 4g and it was too light and lost top end . I mixed them up to equal 5g and I liked it . Mine has a 5 pin CDI like many do and I replaced the stock one with a blue finned racing CDI which did help on takeoff and midrange but had the same top end . I tried out a Uni vent cover which is around half the size of the red Uni airfilter and upjetted to a main jet . It was a hair louder since I could hear the air being drawn in but it had more bottom and midrange power and response . Make sure to only use premium gas preferably nonethanol if you can it . Here is a page to look up ethanol free gas stations . Make sure to use premium 2T oil instead of the weedeater cheap stuff . I use Maxxima 2T Pro synthetic blend . I have also used Motul 710 full synthetic oil but hated paying 17 a quart instead of 10 . I replaced the standard NGK sparkplug with a NGKBRP8HIX which is the iridium since they fire better and not as likely to get fouled out by oil build up . Some opt for the 7 in that sparkplug which is a hotter plug . Iridium may not make it go faster but it keeps it running at its best .

Many 2Ts use Mikuni VM11/22 main jets and a larger MJ will help it as with a 2T it is better to be a hair rich than dead on it or lean . The additional larger ones will be handy later should you install a BBK or replace the pipe . On a 2T the exhaust plays a more important roll in performance . Here is great article on 2T exhaust options 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/1391 A stock engine you would want a street or sport pipe not racing . The Leo Vince HM70 is a great pipe and not too loud . My scooter dealer has a Yamaha Zuma with it and a 70cc BBK . It is a wheelie machine . I have a PM racing pipe which is as loud as a Yamaha YZ 80 . It does not have baffling so takeoff is less since it does not build up backpressure but it has awesome power at mid and top end . With a 70cc BBK , pipe and Uni ( proper air filter not the vent cover ) a 120 MJ on a 19mm TK carb it is a screamer and so far I outran two 150s and smoked several 50 to 80cc 4T scoots . A street kit has two compression rings where a racing only has one so its less friction and revs higher providing you have a tuned pipe but does not last as long . Well if it was a LOOPED wire going back into the CDI then yes it was restricted. I have seen some looped wire CDIs with the wire being blue But I guess they put any piece of wire they have laying around the color does not mean a thing.
Some older cdis actually have the restricted wire as part of the CDI plug those I have seen are usually PINK in color.
