Well for every 1 gram up or down the rpms will change by 500-600 rpms. So put in 10gram weights that should drop your rpms by around 1500 and you should be in the 7500 or so rpms. Alleyoop

It means even with heavier rollers that the variator maxes out, before the engine runs out of power. Put your 7,x gram rollers back in, and put a larger gear in.

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]I put the GPS on the scooter, i realy hit 68km\h (43 mph). The mini tachometer (i buy on ebay), indicate 8800rpm at 43mph!
I think this digital tachometer is not realy exact!

Is the Polini variator larger in diameter than the stock one ? Does it go faster at 8,8k than at 7,5k RPMs ? Revving that high will shorten life of the engine and increase the chances of BOOM

Just so you know because you are new here but you have 2 guys telling you to up your roller weights who have built and modified many scoots and you have another who never has. He modified one bike with a gearing change that ultimately failed and you are ignoring the guys who know and have proven it and taking the advice of the one who generally is wrong. Be careful.

Today i have time to ride the scooter with 8.5g roller and the motor look run smoother. At top speed the Digital RPM always wrote 8800rpm, but at 7800rpm i drive at same speed(46mph)... Soon i try 9.0g rollers. Thank for help!
