Too bad you all call it false info, when it's actually all stock and measured. TaoTao tunes most of it's scoots. Most people don't get the same performance because they receive a scoot from the factory that's not tuned.
The TaoTao's are pretty much tuned for top speed, and the other bikes I have, pretty much too. I never started messing with a performance exhaust or variator. All of these measurements are stock. If your 50cc does not do 40MPH, something is wrong. My 50cc does 47MPH, it could be a secret 63, that's why I put it under 63cc. But a 50cc should do 40MPH with ease; perhaps not in start stop traffic, but run it on a long stretch, and see if it can get upto 40MPH or not; it should. Pump up the tires, put the right fuel and oil in it, and you're ready to top the 40MPH barrier.
If yours is doing only 30 or 35MPH, it's either limited or restricted somewhere, or it's just really bad set up.

When I do my BBK upgrade next week, I'll have to measure my stock cylinder. Based on what most are saying here, my Znen Q50 shouldn't be able to do 35-40mph on the flats, but it does (GPS confirmed). 35mph is easy to reach between lights, and I find myself cruising close to 40mph on roads with lights synced for rush hour traffic. Maybe I have a "secret 63", only a pair of calipers will tell for sure.

Well, based on the info I got from this site, i suspect I have the secret 63, and it does 47MPH.
Based on the scoot I have, I'd say 75cc is the minimum I'd go for if I'd upgrade it.

Again. If you have a 50cc and you're only doing 30-35 your scooter is ok. That is what they are suppose to do. Your 47 mph claim on a stock 50cc is outrageous. You are giving false information to new members. I tell you what. Bring your stock scooter to PCB for bike week next month and if its stock and and faster then my scooter ill sign mine over to you free and clear. But before I sign it over i get to inspect your scooter as I see fit. Also, a secret 63 is not a stock 50cc scooter. The offer has been made.

My scoot does 47MPH, and it is stock, because they come from the store like that. They're registered as a 50cc, but I suspect they are a batch of 63cc's. Even then, the graph shows 63cc and 47MPH (it does 53MPH with wind in the back).

Bottom line is a 50cc scoot with all things maxed will only do 50 plus or minus a few mph depending on riders weight and scoots with big bore kits without bigger valves and or gear upgrades will be hard pressed to go over 45 gps

So to those wanting to do big bore kits if you only do the kit don't expect a huge top speed gain I've done tons of 100cc kits left the rest stock and the scoots top out around 42 GPS but gained hill climb and lots of torque I tell all my customers that the kit will help hill climbing and acceleration top end isn't affected much without gears cvt mods exhaust and bigger valves etc etc

I'm sure with a 75cc BBK, you can put taller gears on them, converting some of the gained torque to top speed.

That would work out fine provided you live in a flat area.

The mods I did on mine,(thanks in part to millsc's advice)made a huge difference in acceleration from stop, climbing hills, and a modest top end increase. I can go 47-50 mph on flats. The greatest advantage is getting out into the traffic safely and quickly. Why anyone would want to ride a 50cc frame any faster than 50 MPH is beyond me.

Well, they are very nimble, and I don't find them less safe. My ATM50 frame is actually pretty rigid! I could ride it upto almost 60MPH down a bridge, before I felt the frame torque, and I got scared cornering because the grip, or frame, or tires, (or something) was oscillating on it, causing me not to make a smooth corner. But under 55 it corners just as good as at 25!
When riding on my 150cc, with 13in alloy wheels, I find the centrifugal force makes it much harder to avoid a last minute object (like a bad leveled sewer lid) on the roads. My 17" motorcycle tires, with 19" front is even worse! 10" may be too small at 60MPH, but 11-12" might just be the sweet spot for me!
