yesterday i've decided to adjust valves on my Big Ruckus clone. i have 5K miles on it and never done valves adjustment. what i found - intake valve was 0.006" and exhaust - no gap at all. set both at 0.004". result is unbelievable. scooter starts, works and idles like a charm. also problem with choke gone away. also replaced fork oil which was really bad. ready for a pleasant ride tomorrow.

Most range from .002-.004 max. I prefer .002 because the valve train noise drives me bonkers any higher.

I want to know more about the dependability, issues with your Rowdy. I am seriously thinking of getting one, to practice / relearn how to ride on 2 wheels again. I know, only 150, but I just like the damn thing. And if ya got some more pics, Id appreciate em davec497@yahoo.com I've seen em listed as the rowdy king kong and the Astro. They appear to be all the same, but i think the astro is of lesser quality Enlighten me Thanx Dave

[replyingto=davec]DaveC%20%20[/replyingto]Hi Dave, It's actually made by Znen. SSR, Rocketa just import it and put their names on it. Rowdy is good, but it's still a China made. So don't buy & ride. You have to do a good PDI. My suggestion - retighten all screws and nut (preferably replace as many as you can). All fluids have to be replaced - god knows what they put in at the factory. Stock belt is good for 3K miles. Check brake calipers. My front one was stuck. Had to polish it and put some grease. Brake master cylinders - site glass started to crack after 6 month. I replaced them with mineral crystal watch glass. Here is a link to my other post with pictures: advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=710880&page=15Let me know if you have more questions. Regards, Alex.

[replyingto=leshka71]leshka71[/replyingto]Followup: I just did my 20 miles ride to work. OMG - i can't believe it. Before valves adjustment - max RPM - 7200; max speed - 55MPH. After - 8000 RPM; 60MPH - top speed. Steady temperature - 215. I think if i put back my heavier sliders i can get even more top end speed.
