Hi, I thought this would be straight forward and I do have an impact wrench but the issue I have is that the before you can get to the nut, you have to release a snap ring, washer, spacer, spring then driving manifold. This leaves the spindle, which sticks out too far, not allowing the socket of my inpact wrench to meet the nut. Any suggestions, other than buying a longer socket? Regards HH.

Wouldn't an extension work? You can buy 2+ extensions. Alleyoop

[replyingto=hurricanehannon]hurricanehannon[/replyingto]I am not picturing what your variator area looks like. Driving manifold? Pictures would help.
A longer socket, or a socket and extension with a hole bored to fit the shaft?

You need a long socket so the shaft goes inside the socket. measure from the bottom end of the variator nut to the end of the shaft, then you would need a socket that length plus at least another 1/4 inch for the wrench to go into the socket . Alleyoop
