Hi, I thought this would be straight forward and I do have an impact wrench but the issue I have is that the before you can get to the nut, you have to release a snap ring, washer, spacer, spring then driving manifold. This leaves the spindle, which sticks out too far, not allowing the socket of my inpact wrench to meet the nut. Any suggestions, other than buying a longer socket? Regards HH.

Hi,
The Vibration seems to start when I reach about 25km/h. Then as you go along it sounds like a revolving droning noise. The scooter won't advance past 45km/h although it seems to want to push on, but feels as though it has reached it's limit and is being held back. It seems to be enimating from the engine area, but you feel it right up through the handlebars. I recently swapped out the exhaust for a standard replacement, but I was slightly concerned when the packaging referred to a 4 stroke rather than a 2 stroke. If fitted ok, and I was asuured it was ok, but could this also be the cause? I understand that 2 stroke exhausts need an expansion chamber. This one does have one, so I'm assuming it should be ok. The other thing I have recently fitted was a compact air filter, removing the standard one. Regards. HH.

Hi,
After sorting out the fuel issues on my velo, I seem to get a nasty vibration at 45km/h. Could this be a drive belt issue?

PROBLEM SORTED!!!! I cheked the plug for a spark first, and all was ok. I then removed the fuel pipe and kick started the scooter to see if fuel was present in the fuel pipe. Nothing appeared. I removed the vacumn lined and manually sucked and fuel started to flow through the fuel pipe. Deduced the vacumn pipe probably wasn't sealed tight enough. Changed it for a smaller inner diameter tube that fitted snugly at the carb and petcock. Hey presto, it now starts first kick. Took it for a quick spin, all seems ok. Will take it out for a longer outing tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions, they were a great help.

Thanks. Would the valve clearance and/or condition of the reeds explain why the scooter starts ok, and then dies after a short period of time, then I am unable to start it until it is left for quite a while. I am slowly working my way through the possibilities. Would it help if I took the carb off again for another clean.

Quick update. I replaced the petcock, and the fuel and vacumn hose in case there was a hidden split. Put it all back together, it started up after a few kicks and was running well. I had changed the spark plug as well. Only took it out a couple of times over the weekend, no more than 5 miles. Was planning on using it tomorrow morning, so I just took it out for a spin, and it died on me again, after 200 yards. It now won't start. Any ideas?
Choke, electrical, float? any help/suggestions appreciated.

[replyingto=devo344a]devo344a[/replyingto]That might be my fall back option. I am still trying to deduce the problem. Personally, I think the vacumn fuel valve is broken. I can't see any other reason for fue to flow through the fuel line when the sccoter is switched off. Can I just check, the vacumn hose connects at the bottom of the petcock and the fuel like at the side, Correct? I have ordered a new petcock and fuel hose. Hopefully that will solve it. Attachments:

[replyingto=andrewrides1]andrewrides1[/replyingto]Ok, a quick update.
I managed to get the scooter home last night. It started first kick, seemd to run ok, but wasn't as smooth as before. Wouldn't go over 50km/H, which I'm assuming is down to it being restricted. It felt as though it wanted to push on, but held back. Opening the throttle beyond halfway made no difference, it just started to bog.
Anyhow, after parking up at home, I noticed fuel dripping onto the floor at an alarming rate. I was not sure where it was coming from, but when I took off the fuel pipe at the carb end, it was flowing freely. I was under the impression this would only happen if there was a vacumn created when the bike is running. Therefore, could my fuel tap (petcock) be knackered?
I'm surprised as I replaced the fuel tap only a few weeks ago. Could it be that I have installed a faulty one, or what could have caused it to fail so soon.

Hi,
First post as a newbie looking for some advice. I have recently bought a 50cc Italject Velocifero. It has been running ok, but seems to bog down at full throttle. When you ease off to half throttle, it picks up again. To remedy the issue, I did the following:
•Removed the Carb and cleaned all jets •Replaced the float and needle •Replaced the vacumn fuel tap and fuel lines •Drained the petrol tank and oil tanks and replaced contents. For 1 trip the scooter seemed better, but still bogged down as before. Yesterday, I rode it to work and it seemed to run very smooth but after calling into a petrol station to fill up, it took 4 kicks to start it and then it died on me about 1 mile up the rode. I had rode it about 10 miles before filling up. The scooter would then not start, no matter what I tried.
I pushed it to work and left it overnight. Today I tried it and it started on the first kick. I haven't taken it out on the road as I am unsure whether the fault will re-occur.
Please can you advise what I would need to look at? Is this a fuel, air or ignition problem?
Thanks in advance. HH.

Hi,
I am a new member from Windsor, UK, riding a 1990 Italjet Velocifero 50, which I intend to restore. I've only had two scooters in my life so I'm a novice at this and I'm getting my head around how the engine/transmission operates. I'll be posting my first cry for help soon, as my velo has decided to challenge me as of yesterday.
Cheers HH.
