Hi folks...I would greatly appreciate your input on a strange noise my 150cc GY6 is making. Some background...the scoot runs fine...I have changed out the clutch and the muffler (for other reasons), however I still have this strange noise...I would be thankful for anyone with an idea as to what this is!

sounds like something is loose i would suggest going back over the exhaust nuts (known to shake loose) then i would check your exhaust mounts make sure everything is good there and just do a general check for loose nuts and bolts.

Thanks for the quick responses gents! I just doublechecked all the nuts and bolts for the exhaust and everything is tight....in addition I tested another new muffler on the bike and it made the same noise! ugh...

do you have the exhaust gasket on? mine made a little rattle not bad tho without the gasket.

Sounds like muffler tin rattling.
Try putting your foot on the rear brake caliper when you rev it. My caliper is loose on the pins and rattles at certain frequencies.

Yep...I tried the brake caliper thing before...however checked again this morning and there was no change in the sound when I put my foot on it...also that exhaust gasket is new..

Well. it took a while but I finally figured it out....it was the exhaust pipe....when I took it off to change the gasket I noticed that it had a rattle all by itself...I guess one of the welds came loose on the inside or something....anyway I put a new pipe on and all is good!
