Ok, so it's been a bit since I've been able to work on my scoot.
I put the tube line back into the stock airbox (it was zip-tied to the frame after installing the Uni-style filter), and put the smaller inner snorkle back into the stock airbox. When I went for a drive, I got a lot of sputtering, and it was backfiring I think, lots of shaking at WOT.
I brought it home and swapped the
MJ for an 
, and it ran beautifully! Nice, smooth vibrations, getting the high RPM desired, accelerating up to 40/45 mph steadily. Also, there's some nice power, it doesn't slow down when climbing slight grade hills, and actually moves up in speed!
I really like this configuration. It was at night, and after a rain, so I will need to test again today in the middle of the heat. If it does worse, I might try putting the outer snorkle back onto the stock airbox too. I doubt I have to downjet anymore at this point.
