When I am out riding my bike, and when ever I am speeding up or laying off the throttle I feel and hear a very loud intense vibration noise coming from under my right foot. My scooter taotao roman 150 still gets up to 55mph+.
Is my problem likely to be something like worn roller weights or something more worrisome?
Thanks,
SB.

[replyingto=scooterboy]scooterboy[/replyingto]Anyone? Am I likely to be left at the side of the road? This evening I put it up on the center stand and reved the engine, and I think the sound is originating from around the cvt and being conducted through the engine to the exhaust. When I lay of the throttle the immediately goes away.

Really? Is that a fairly major repair, and I take it you mean engine bearing?

yes it is , my experience with worn out weights seems to be more of a noise issue rather than a vibration issue. you can always buy new weights just to be sure, they are cheap and may need them anyway. i would def get another opinion before tearing the engin apart to change the bearings .

[replyingto=geh3333]geh3333[/replyingto]It doesn't vibrate all the time, only when I eccelerate at certain lower speeds and then I let off I let go of the throttle to slow down! I only have had the bike less than three months and kind of feel I should drive it back to the shop and demand they fix my problem. The warranty is only supposed to cover parts, but I think it's a bit much to expect me to cover something major like this! What do you guys think?

Maybe check out the clutch and wiggle it,,see if there is any play back there in the bearings,,might be swing-arm bearing too??

This might be a stupid question, but where is the clutch plate?

[replyingto=scooterboy]scooterboy[/replyingto]Its not stupid at all.
The clutch assembly is under the CVT cover,its in the rear by back tire,the front pulley/fan assembly is the variator,,the clutch assembly involves the bell cover,clutch pads,spring,and a pulley behind it that works with a contra spring.Make sure that whole assembly is tight.Check your belt also.

Okay, I rode it home this evening and the rattle/ vibration only occurs around 30/31 mph speed up or slowing down. Beyond that the scoot runs normal. Even

Here is a short Youtube clip of my scooter. I pulled off the CVT cover this evening and apart from a little soot over the crank shaft, nothing else seems to be wrong the CVT.

I only have had the bike less than three month
Potential clue here...do a proper PDi and tighten EVERYTHING including motor mounts as well as the top nut and lock nut on top of the tree.
