Took my new 150 to the DMV, VIN inspection passed but took awhile to find the manufacturer, by the end of the day I had my plates. It was close to 5pm by the time I was done, so no long ride like I had planned upon getting my plates, that will have to wait till tomorrow. I did take her on a short stretch of freeway so I could finally open her up. Lot's of traffic (Vegas has rush hour 7 days a week), but I ran a steady 60-65 uphill, and hit 70 downhill, but traffic was too slow to find her limit. The 16" wheels are heaven to ride on after a year and a half on 10"ers!

Replaced the rear turn signal arms a couple weeks ago. One was broken from putting the scoot in the trunk of car when it broke down a few years ago. When I took the scoot out a few weeks ago-- it was no longer there so it fell off somewhere down the road. I've temp fixed it and re-broke it a few times. The beauty of it is, I lost the front turn signal cover awhile back and the old covers fit on the front ones, so good deal!

Awesome guys! Glad this thread is doing so well.. Today I plugged my ACV valve and now I don't have anymore vacuum lines to deal with,,its really awesome to look down into the engine compartment and only see a fuel line and breather,,runs like a champ no popping on decel,,just normal bratting..

I finally installed a windshield from Scrappy today. Hopefully will help to make my cold weather riding a bit more pleasant!

I finally installed a windshield from Scrappy today. Hopefully will help to make my cold weather riding a bit more pleasant! I have Scrappy's universal windshield, makes all the difference in the world. Easy to remove for the summer and replace for the winter, just two nuts to remove/re-install it if you leave the brackets on the rear view mirror mounts like I do.

Today I adjusted the A/F mixture on the carb, and tighten the direction, it was a bit loose

purchased an electric fuel pump to replace the vacuum fuel pump. I don't want to cut a hole in the plastic, and I don't want to manually turn on and off by taking off an access panel. Because I could gravity feed it (my tank really is at the highest point on the bike that it can be), I am going to throw a manual petcock in the seat...in case the electric ever fails. I like auto-on/off.. I am going to replace some of the dino-bulbs with LEDs to balance the small amount of power consumed by the pump. Oh, and I rode with the neighborhood kids riding their four wheelers on the road. My scoot was faster... they must be geared for dirt.

For the one I'm fixing up, I painted and installed the muffler, detailed the rear wheel and rear of the engine area, took it for a test drive for the first time , ordered a belt, scuffed the clutch pads, cleaned the variator and put new rollers in.

I put a relay on it and, conveniently, had an "extra" ignition switch wire next to the battery to hook it to. For now I have the pump tie wrapped to the frame. The ~1.2 amp pump doesn't seem to have affected the system negatively, but it's only been in there for a few days.

On my newer scoot today I washed and waxed most of the body work, looks nice, I painted a replacement body piece, did a rough job of it but it needs a few flaws to match the rest of the bike, then I took the carb apart and cleaned it thoroughly. Man was I impressed, Yesterday it did 20MPH tops. Today it pulled the front shocks up on acceleration. I didn't take it out on the road because it has no tag but that thing is going to put the scoot in scooter! Maybe these 250 Helix clones aren't so bad after all. I bought it to sell but I'm thinking of keeping it and selling The VADR. Even with my electric fuel pump there's no way mine is going to keep up with this one. This is how riding a scooter ought to be. I want to take it out on the road! I want to take some vacuum and fuel pressure readings on it so I can see what a good running 250 Helix clone should read. Of course it might have problems when at full speed, but it feels strong off the line.

I think it has a bad motivator or maybe the flux capacitor is burned out. I can handle it but I'd feel bad about pushing that off on someone and they got hurt. It isn't safe!"
