Hello everyone, I recently sold my 2009 jonway yy250t 244cc engine today to get a bigger scooter. I found another scooter called a sunny 2012 dongfang 300cc scooter with the same price as my other one. Does anyone knows anything about these scooters. Are there any parts for this scooter as well. THANKS GUYS...

IMHO Going from a Jonway to a Sunny is a small downgrade. I am pretty sure the 300cc China scoots are actually 257cc. Correct me if I am wrong.
If I were in the market for a 250cc class Chinese scooter, I'd look a Znen made scooter or a Linhai. For the price of a new 250 China scoot, you could also possibly find a used Honda Reflex or a Honda Helix.

I believe it's a 257cc with bbk. If it was the 257cc, they'd call it a 260, like the BMS TBX 260.

I have seen a 2009 burgman at a bmw scooter dealer for 1800 with 20, 000 miles in excellent condition. Is that a good deal concerning the mileage of the scoot.

I'd say yes, if it truly is in an excellent condition! Usually you'll be paying more, but then again, dealers usually charge a $500 dealerfee, and taxes and tag transfer would come down to $2700-3000, which is about right for a scoot like that!

If it is well taken care of that is a steal. There will be some wear on things like tires and brakes, but the engine will go well beyond 20,000 miles.

I checked those (Dongfang/Titan) out at ScooterDepot and Sunny Power Sports and they sell for more than an Italian Aprilia Sport City Fuel Injected 250 when they go on factory special. Kind of limiting with only a 300lb carrying capacity on the Dongfang/Titan while the Aprilia gives you a 463 lb capacity (Rider/Passenger/Cargo). Aprilia 250cc scooters when on factory special can go for as low as $2,999. The Donfang 300 (278cc) is only 18.5 hp while the Aprilia 250 (249cc) puts out almost 25 hp.
I only checked the local Aprilia dealer to see if there was really a big enough difference to warrant the high price of the name brand bikes and found just a little difference in price yet a big difference in overall quality. Yes this only applies during incentives from Aprilia however the last incentive started right before Spring 2011 and continued right on until the end of 2012. Aprilia seems to be holding back bikes right now so who knows what surprises they may have for us in April 2013.

Most of the time that 300LBS is just a generic number. Me and my wife weigh over 300LBS, and the 50cc still had spare suspension left.

Most of the time that 300LBS is just a generic number. Me and my wife weigh over 300LBS, and the 50cc still had spare suspension left. It's more than visible suspension left while standing still and has more to do with capacity of the bike as a whole to hold up to stress at max rated capacity and speed. My old Lance Vintage looked OK standing still with rider and passenger on it however at speeds over 35 mph it was very apparent on the first patch of rough road that it was not up to holding over 300 lbs for very long. If you'd put 450 on a bike rated for 300 then what's a bike rated for 463 going to hold by you're measure? 1/3 of a ton? We are talking about 250/300 CC bikes capable of highway speeds so the capacity of the OEM tires at those speeds are also a limiting factor. We don't want to be found making brash statements that could lead those not considering all the factors into harms way.

Heads up guys.. Still looking for a scooter ...found another deal Aprilia Atlantic 500 with 1200 miles.... getting hot!!! Sounds Good? The Atlantic is a fantastic bike as long as all the service bullitens have been performed. Call any Aprilia dealer or the customer support number on their web site and have them run the VIN before you buy to play it safe. Prior to mid 2004 there were issues with gas getting into the engine oil which lead to oil pump failures and engine loss. Technical service bulletins like recalls are done at no charge to the current owner. The Atlantic comes with a decent sound system, has self canceling turn signals and can have a very sophisticated anti-theft system. Make sure you get the master key and key tags especially if the bike is Immobilizer equipped. On Immobilizer bikes never use the last key to run the bike as you may have to replace the dash, fuel pump, ignition switch, ECM, EFI and Immobilizer module as a set if you loose the last coded key which can cost you well over $1,000. Typical of Aprilia scooters it is rated to carry 463 lbs. It was released as a cross country touring bike and is interstate capable.

If it was me I'd wave $2000 cash around (carefully) and try to buy the Burgman.
