My scoot can pop wheelies! Scared the out of me! My hubby was taking my scoot around the corner to check my weights and it was almost vertical!
Anyone else have a wheely popper? How can I control that?

You should have seen my 6 ft 3in husband on my little pink scoot! He probably sits tall and far back on the bike which makes him more prone to have a small bike rear up on him. A little bit of a jerky clutch is all it takes when you sit right over or slightly behind the axel on the rear wheel.

LOL! I'm 6'3" too, but my taoTao ATM50 does not do wheelies, unless if I sit on the passengers seat and lean back as much as possible..
If I where you, I'd ask your husband to put or have put 1 or 1,5 gram heavier rollers or sliders in the scoot. It will not only lower acceleration, but improve MPG as well.
Your scoot is probably tuned to do wheelies.

Be easy on the throttle and you'll be fine. Wheelies are quite manageable and even helpful sometimes. Take it easy till your used to it.

Dom you can stand over the bike, hit the throttle and once the front tire is off ,either sit ,use your knee, or put your foot on the back rack area, and Robs your mothers brother.

Mine wont power up wheelie,,but if I stand on the back pegs and compress the front forks down and pull up hard, hit the throttle WOT at the same time it will come right up and I have a junk Taotao 150 with light mods in signature. You have to be rolling slow like 10 mph,,its harder to do the faster you go with a stock scoot. As for the wheel just coming up with power roll on,,well thats a great thing,,most any body on here would love to have a scoot that powerful!! Just get the feel for it,,slowly try to find your balancing point and ride it out,,if you get past the balancing point just release the throttle and if thats not enough to bring you back down,,tap the back brake,,its a game of skill using throttle and keeping it in the small balancing zone,,very fun to wheelie long! Tom Tom Watch how this guy works the throttle and back brake,,you get the idea....
