The Aprilia is actually at a used car dealer, it seems they have a small selection of bikes as well. I checked on prices for Scarabeo 500's and this one seems too good to be true. I will find out tomorrow.
Thanks to all.

Why would you buy anything but an Italian scooter. Just saying..
You really need to decide what you actually want the Kymco is an entirely different kind of bike. The Morphous and Scarabeo are closer to the same. I like a scooter to be a scooter as hard as it might be for me to say it I'd go Kymco if those where the only bikes on the list... That Vespa 150 is not much more and the Genuine Buddy is a sweet ride in the same price range. Those are scooters the other ones are Maxi-Scooters different animals all together really...

I bought mine at a dealer.. And I think you have a point there about inspection... There is a bit of peace of mind buying from a dealer , only problem is their prices typically are a bit more than private sellers and they don't like to negotiate a whole lot. I don't think I was able to talk the guy down at ALL ! lol I paid $1400 and my Tomos is about equal in quality with a Kymco or so I am told? Aprillia is up there though, probably as nice as it gets

The Scarabeo 500ie is a very nice bike and is very reliable. 6,500 miles between oil changes using the recomended lubes and 12,500+ mile lifespan on the drive belt. Some sport bike riders feel it is too much like a scooter but that is what it is.

Nope just found it humerous that the reviewers from a sport bike publication thought that it was a revelation and something that wouldn't be expected that a traditional style scooter would have scooter characteristics. That it would appeal to those looking for a light easy to handle bike was an insurmountable problem to them. Oh my!

Well folks here is the latest...
The Scarabeo was a bust. I thought the price was too good to be true ($2400) and it was. The poor bike had been stolen and recovered. The entire ignition switch had been ripped out of it, there wasn't one plastic panel without cracks, scrapes, or parts broken off. There was no key for the seat and they had a toggle switch rigged up for the ignition. I walked away fast.
While I was in that area I thought I would check out the large bike dealer near there. Honda-Suzuki-Yamaha all under one roof. Burgman, Majesty, Silverwing, these scooters are HUGE, with prices to match.
I'm going to the Kymco dealer tomorrow, checkbook in hand.
Thanks to all for the support.

Have you looked at the Genuine scooters. The Blur might just float your boat...

There is a Genuine dealer not too far from me, they have the Blur but at $4000 it's out of my price range. I don't want to finance anything. I still like the Morphous, but the style is just too radical for me and it's so low slung that I don't think people in cars will see me until I'm imbedded in their grill. I can buy the Super 8 tomorrow for $2350, thats with all tax, tag and dealer fees included. It's the last 2012 leftover they have.

Oh I'm jumping, had this week off and don't have to go back to work until the 24th. I want to get some riding in before then.
