Im planning on getting a BBK for my scoot sooner or later,,on the 150 the case needs to be made wider(bored)so the cylinder sleeve will fit in,,is there a way to do this at home by grinding it then taking it apart to get the metal flakes out and clean it,,or should I just have a machine shop do it.I know I can buy a pre bored case also,,just trying to save some $$.It does not have to be bored very precise,,just enough for the sleeve to slide in.
Thanks
Tom

Sorry but it does have to be bored the jug fits nice and even and tight all the way around. Otherwise it will let go with all the vibration and heat, it happened to someone on the old SD and he had pictures of what happened. And get this he bought already bored out cases, but the cases looked like they were hand bored with a dremel or something. You cannot go and bore it out half ... it will cost you a new motor. Just a warning you can do whatever you want. Alleyoop

It 120 for cases from kspower (fender cycle), couldn't find a shop that would machine them for less locally.

We actually bored out my daily drive scooter using a hand grinder. 3 years with no issues but i dont recommend it! Not sure how much they charge over there but here usually most machine shops will do it for $35.00-40.00.
