I get a bucket of soapy water,,then get out my Simple Green or LA Awesome degrease,,then spray it down with a light bit of water,,spray degreaser on,,then brush with a small wheel brush,,make sure to get all under neath also,,some oil will get on the bottom. When you rinse off,,be careful not to spray directly onto the coil, electrical connections and electronics.
Mine comes out like brand new every time,,I do this once every oil change and have no problems. The rest just gets washed with soapy water,,then spray waxed,,I used Simonize on the paint a silicone sealer to help protect from UV rays...and don't forget to treat the rubber and plastic with some sort of protectant,,I brush it on heavy,,then wipe off the excess.
This china scoot is getting better treatment than my new car did,,well see how long she lasts!

Galaxi I had that same thought after I clicked. Anyway yes soap and water works fine. If your worried about your electrics use low pressure water to rinse and dry everything before you turn the bike on. If it can run in the rain it can handle a bath..

The only thing I wash is the plastics mainly. Anything else I just leave... don't want to get things too wet

Well I don't scrub the wires and wheels... I do a quick wash on the main plastics. If there is crud somewhere on the bottom of the bike oh well. I don't have time to detail the $%^'n bike lol

Dirty bikes are dangerous keep your scoot clean I'm with you. Even my china scoots gets a normal wash. During the PDI I take care of any connections that don't look watertight.

I use a small 1200psi pressure washer (carefully) or go to the self serve car wash. I towel dry immediately. Never had a problem. A pressure washer uses less water than a garden hose full on. It's low volume high pressure. just don't spray at the electricals.

The more I wash it,,the shinier it gets...you need to degrease the motor and undercarriage once in a while,,the bike will run cooler,,and it make trouble easier to spot also....my motorized stuff always has to be eat off of clean,,just the way I am I guess If you have a radiator on your bike its a great idea to rinse out the cooling fins also,,do this on your car with a little soapy water and see how much longer your radiator will last....the radiator on my pup truck is original from 1995,,and we get alot of snow here with all the salt/calcium they put on the road,,it still looks brand new.
