My neighbor tried getting his scooter to start for more than a hour this morning. This is exactly why you buy quality products. You'll end up spending more in repairs then what the scooter is worth.

Really ? How good a mechanic is your neighbor ? How well has he cared for his bike.. Has he routinely pushed it beyond it's design limits ?
I walked out from my work yesterday to see a big puddle of oil under some guys Aprilla, now should I fault the owner ? Or the quality of the bike for that puddle of oil ?
Every single failure Ive had with Fawkes was my fault, either ignoring something I should not have, or doing something stupid i knew was risky to him, or pushing hard and well beyond his design limits..My 550 Kaw would not have tolerated what i put Fawkes thru..

PS: I'll bet he inadvertently hit the kill-switch. Five seasons ago, I did that on my own scoot and spent an hour draining the battery and burning up the starter... Live and learn... LOL!

Stop bashing our scoots...you are out numbered! Rest assured Hondas and Vespas have issues too but people are probably too embarrassed to post about it because of this type of ignorance.

Yes really. My American made antique Homelite Super-2 has an untold amount of hours on it and will continue to out cut any newly made Chicom Homelite chainsaw.
Don't know how good of a mechanic my neighbor is because I mainly stay to myself. He runs the scooter pretty good and has been having problems with it lately.

So your basing your earlier statement on only the fact that it didn't start, Without knowing the reason why ? without knowing how he drives it, or even how well he maintains it ? These really are things you should know before making a blanket judgement statement don't you think ?
;D

The R/R went out on my 2002Honda Shadow Sabre. So, do I blast all Hondas?
My 2013 Icebear Zodiac starts up first time, every time. So, the day the battery went dead, what that Jims fault, or did I leave the radio on?
So come on dude, quit dissin us Chinese scoot owners. Yea, you got a Japanese bike, good, glad for ya. Hopefully Rednecksville In has the parts to fix it next time sumtin happens.

I currently don't own a bike but I will soon enough. As for owning a Japanese bike, will never happen :#

How much you want to bet that almost any member here could have the "Chicom" bike you disparage, running like a sewing machine? (as the Old West saying goes "It's not the gun, it's the gunner".)

Already told you how he drives it. One parameter out of hundreds of variables...

...and how much you wanna bet that every time I hit the starter button my Znen "Chicom" roars to life? (I don't care what it is, if you don't do proper maintenance it will break down.)

I'm not saying Chicom scooters don't run. I'm saying they're temperamental scooters.
