Hey yall I am new here cause i need some help
I have been freaking on this non starting issue for days .......
I have been trying to get this bashan peace scooter thing to styart for days
it has been sitting a while .
it had a dead battery , no spark ... I charged battery , then no spark , I checked spark briefly with another cdi and plug wire STill no spark I removed stator cover, cleaned stator and reinstalled
Got some spark , it appeared kinda weak , but still sparking pretty well ( maybe still weak)
put back together , and NO LUCK
tried lots of gas , not even a chug
gas has been sitting a lil while , but , seems clear ... Spark was still there , but not found when plug in chamber... carb seems ok clean , maybe old fuel air box was removed compressiopn seem s good . good vacuum , and pressure 2012 scooter, 4200 miles lastly just checked spark and have MAD spark fir wire to case , but minimal spark from plug ......
is this just a the plug???
( plug looks like it is new, has hardly been used)
Looking for any ideas
thank you for any advice

Gas with ethanol goes bad in days so drain it and clean the jets by hand . Pour some Sea Foam in will also clean out the fuel system . Have you checked the valves ?

Even if your battery says its charged it may be bad. If you have a weak battery your scoot will have a hard time starting espeacially on girst startup of the season. I had to buy a new battery this season because my scoot wouldnt turn over hard enough to start. Try to start the scoot with the battery charger connected. Just dont let it run long with it connected. Let it charge for about 2 mins on 10 amp charge if your charger has it then try to start it. You should notice a stronger turnover .

Make sure you usually never charge these batteries with more than 1.5 amp trickle chargers.

Hey thank for the tips Im on board with the nbad gas at the moment gonna drain it and add cleaner and fresh gas and try a new plug The battery seems to hold a little charge, cranks the scooter on it own for quite a while, seems ok to me so I have also tried two spark plugs ... the other was an old go kart plug that was still ok ...didnt try it in the engine , just to test for spark after cleaning and checking the stator , I checked both plugs and saw spark. still couldn't get it to fire while cranking I took off the spark plug wire/coil and inspected the plug boot , when taking it off I twisted plug clip connection out and seemed to find a spring and a little piece of something it appeared to be plastic or possibly some sort of resistor or something . I cant explain it so it went coil-wire-boot connection- ?resistorz?-spring- brass plug connector anyone seen something like that ??

welllll sorry I have read and read , cant find any much in fo on plug wires/coil and I am un familiar with them on scooters so far
so as far as I can tell it must be some type of resistor ?
ok ok ok
When I take the plug wire out form the boot and put it near engine ground, I get lots of spark from the copper center of the plug wire to the engine . quick blueish spark with a decent arc distance .
When I twist the plug boot back on , and stick a plug in , it doesnt spark .
Oh this is with a brand new plug .
So it sure appears there is juice up to the plug boot and then doesnt make it through the boot , plug is brand new ---
Could it be not enough power to spark the plug ?? would that be the stator or maybe just plug coil ot cdi ??

Did you get a new plug cap now that the old one fell apart. If not, are you sure all the bits are still making contact? A new plug wire cap is like $2...

thanks guys ...
yeah apparently the plug boot had a broken resistor in it ... I repaired it with a piece of screw ,
I cleaned the stator again , cleaned some grounds , tested for spark .......
got a little spark back .. AND got it to chug !!! , first time in a while , then -- nothing
Seems the stator or coil isnt putting out enough juice
there is this great troubleshooting guide in the tech section on these forums !!
ima gonna get on it with a test meter and tryn see if there is enough juice outta the cdi
I just found it a little whil ago
