Well first all this is my first post on this fourm so hopefully to gain a lot of info and then pass it on. Ive got a yamaha jog thats been giving me problems all year. It runs fine when on kickstand as plenty of power and fuel getting to carb but when I try to ride it kinda bogs down and top speed of around 20mph. I was able to go 47mph last year with no problems. Heres what ive done it has a new carb in it, cdi box, plug, plug wire. Ive tried different belts, rollers, variators and a clutch and I keep getting a speed of around 20mph when trying to ride. It has a stock airbox with a techniqes exhaust compression is 135. At first I was thinking fuel related but it runs so good on stand im thinking more in drivetrain. Any thoughts thanks in advance

a new carb? where did it come from. its probably not jetted the same. it could of been for a whatever. get a stock jet and put back in it, whats wrong with your old carb? who ever puts out the buy a new carb thing is stupid.

D8 Please excuse Mileage. You would be able to notice popping, backfiring, bogging, etc. if you were running the incorrect jetting and judging by what you've done so far I assume you know your way around re-jetting.
Is your sparkplug properly gapped to .25 or is it iridium? When was your last gear oil change? I'm not too sure about 2ts and my 2t scooter lost all power when the gearbox went dry and the gears got ruined. It has plenty of power on the stand, but when anyone is sitting on it it refuses to go more than a few mph.

Mileage has something there unless it is damaged a new carb is rarely needed. Any way how long has the exhaust been on there? Is it choked with carbon? When was the last time you decoked the cylinder? What kind of oil have you been using? Answers to these will reveal your problem.

Most will run fine on the center stand no load on the motor because no weight on the rear wheel. So your down on power and if it is bogging then you just may need to adjust the carb. I assume this has a SLIDER type carb with the throttle cable pulling on the SLIDE. Try adjusting it by this procedure and see if it helps. Have you checked for leaks around the intake ? Many have a Teflon intake that dry rot and crack causing leaks . It does not require as much power to spin the tire on the CS compared to going down the road . What size mm is the carb and the size of the jets ? Also check for leaks in the airtube from the air filter box to the carb . 135 PSI is great so its not a compression issue . Have you inspected the reeds under the intake ? What is the weight of your rollers ?
If your jetting is off it can be starving for fuel or flooding as well so its a trial and error testing of jets to fine tune it . Is the airfilter clean ?

I will check for air leaks and check the reads. Im not sure the weight on the rollers ive tried a few different sets that I have with no luck. Thanks for advice on gears I need to check them its been a while ago buy oil leaked out and I had to trailer it home so maybe gears were on there last leg and finally gave up. Recheck the compression when the motor I'd fully warmed up. I'd bet it low.

Make it says for 2 strokes and for injectors if you use the oil tank as some 2T oil is premix only . I use Maxima , Bel Ray and Motul brands . I have not used Amsol but Im told its very good . You should use a synthetic blend or full synthetic and avoid the cheap weedeater junk . Cheap oil smokes ( but is a good sign its getting oil ) and tends to get the plug fouled . When I was an early teen the I used the cheap oil and it would leave a com trail and get my sparkplug dirty after so long that I would have to clean it with carb cleaner spray . A trail riding buddy told me about synthetic 2T oil and the iridium NGK as I had only used the standard NGK and wow he was right there is a diff as it runs better , did not seem to get fouled and synthetic 2T oil mostly smokes a bit at startup when its cold with none or very little when the engine is warm

If it runs good on the stand and bogs like it wants to stall when the tire is on the ground. try removing the stock air box and put an open element air filter on. It might need more air than the stock air box is giving it.
