Hey all. I am performing maintenance on a Xingyue xy50qt. I got it used, and many components are not in proper maintenance. Ive identified its as a GY6 Engine. Ive recently developed a fuel leak, and Im trying to diagnose it. Here are my current findings. First, The fuel appears to be leaking at this component . It is in the middle of the line that goes from my tank to my engine. What is it? Is it easy to replace? Secondly, This cable was noticed to be unconnected. I do not know where this cable goes. Can anyone enlighten me?

The first picture is YOUR FUEL FILTER, if it is leaking just replace it. If the hose is a little cracked connecting to the filter just cut a piece of the hose off and stick it onto the Filter. The second picture is your CARB BOWL DRAIN hose. look at the bottom of your carb on the LEFT side and you will see the CONNECTOR on the carb. But is a Drain hose for carbs that do NOT have a Screw next to the DRAIN CONNECTOR so your carb has been changed otherwise gas would be streaming out from the Carb Bowl. So look at the bottom of your carb and you will see this, notice the screw next to the Carb Drain Hose. If there is no hose on the Carb at the bottom you can use the one that is not connected and put it on like in the picture and let it hang down. Alleyoop

Thanks for the info. It appears the fuel filter is the problem. It wont create a proper seal on the tank side. I attempted trimming back the hose on the assumption the hose was the problem, but no go. Still squirting out that connection.
As for the Carb Bowl Drain, mine appears to be connected at the bottom, but not the as it appears the other end of the connection is on your image. Could this be a problem? I cant really take out the carb to get a detailed look at it ATM, but the image suggests the end of the cable I have should connect somewhere on the far side of the carb, up near the top.

As long as the hose is connected to the bottom of the carb, you will be fine... it is used to drain gas from the carb when preparing the scoot for storage....
A fuel filter is VERY cheap... buy a new one, trim back the hose on the intake, and the supply side to ensure a good fit, and then secure the connections tightly with zip ties.
if you take the old filter to a home deopt, lowes, autozone, or pepboys, they usually have one in stock... or if you can wait, order a replacement on ebay or scrappydogscooter
cheers

When you replace that fuel filter don't use those junk snap clamps,,they just cut through the line in time,,get yourself some nice small black ZIP TIES,,3MM wide and how ever long,,just snug them up then trim the excess off and you wont have to worry about it for a LONG time.
If your handy enough I would replace that fuel line while your in there.Take a piece to Autozone and they will cut you a nice new piece.
Good times...
Whoops I think mgsiciliano beat me too it,,we must have posted around the same time,,sorry.
