Unfortunately to cruise at a higher MPH at low RPMS you will have to put in Taller Gears in the tranny. The 150s will do 50 and little over BUT at WOT pulling well over 7K in RPMS. Running in the 6K rpms it will not reach those speeds. I have experimented till the cows come home with Differentt 115mm variators, different size belt, rollers weights from 10g up to 13g Dr. pulley sliders from 11g to -13g, Clutch Springs, Contra Springs. Best I could do is around 58mph BUT at WOT running at 7800 rpms.
Had the motor bored with a 62mm BBK and 60mm Stroker crank 16/37 tranny gears from 13/40 stock gears and 3 inch taller tires. Now it ROCKS, crank it up to about 7k get it up to speed nice and quick then back off the throttle and It will hold 50mph at 5100-5200, 60mph at 6100-6200 and I have just about half throttle left if I need it. [replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]Now thats not bad at all alley!! I may just put one size taller in the back for gears,,cause i have plenty of power now with all the bolt on mods i did.Im not looking to set any new speed records but if I could get my R's down just a bit I will be a happy camper

Yeah, there's nothing like displacement; On average you'll need at least 400cc's to cruise 50MPH @ 3k RPM; with 500cc's you can cruise 60MPH, @~3k RPM. But with a 150, you'll probably go 45-50 tops.

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]This is def correct however you wkll still have to play around with roller weight size and without a bbk changing gear size can be a hit or miss maybe youll get want you want out of them maybe you wont. If you go for the gear change i would def get a stronger main clutch spring. This will help keep your lower end power by ensuring that the clutch pulley dosent open to soon. It will also allow you to get up to your 6000 rpm much easier. I would not do the gear swap without the main clutch spring swap. May also be worth ordering the ststronger clutch springs

I can vouch for the 115 mm Hoca Variator from Parts for Scooters. It made a big difference in how my Lance 150 performed. Used the standard 12 gram rollers that were offered with it.
