My mother got me the K&N Recharge Kit for $13 at Autozone. I never knew replacing a filter was so pricey. :/
It cost like $15 for the filter and $13 for the recharge kit... ugh.
Anyways, the filter is all oiled up and I'm about to do a plug chop.

Hi Try the 92 and do another plug chop to see what the results are if still lean go up in size and do another plug chop Be sure to use a new plug each time It takes a little time money and effort to fine tune the carb jets www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Plug_chopTake care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank

I've been using(just a little) motor oil on my foam filters for over 35 years,,never had a problem,,that sticky filter oil is hard on the wallet for what it does or doesn't do.Snake oil if you ask me!!
I bet castor oil would work just as good,,wal-mart 2 bucks!

[replyingto=jerseyboy]jerseyboy[/replyingto]Wish I had known that before spending the money on the recharge kit... Oh well, better to have the stuff designated for the job anyway So how much damage to my engine do I risk by running it for daily tasks (a few miles a day) until I get my new jets?

Hi Running lean you risk damaging the piston and causing severe engine damage Heres a few examples of pistons damaged by running lean Lean engine pistom damage by inuyasha50, on Flickr I would get the jets dialed in properly before using it for any significant period of time Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank

[replyingto=hank]hank[/replyingto] Well, that's not good! I guess I'll pay for priority shipping... I certainly hope two days of one mile trips to the store and back won't hurt it too bad...

Hi A few miles shouldn't be too bad for her, but the more use she gets the more potential damage she may receive Others have burned their pistons badly with less then a hundred or so miles running them too lean Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank

I bought me a fist full of NGK CR7HSA plugs, ordered me up those jets (92, , 98), and I covered my filter with a sock. I'm all ready to do this, aww yeah.

Could be worse. I have to spend 70 per filter for my car. Next time you need foam filter oil, check out No Toil, I use it on my dirtbike with great success. Also they will replace your filter if their oil ruins it.
