The gy6/100 I ordered from scrappy is finally on it's way. Actually an 83 cc orr something like that (50mm bore). I also ordered a 23mm carb with that. I am seeing so many threads about jetting etc, that now i'm second guessing my decision.My thinking was: the bigger carb will have a bigger jet, and probably would be a good match for the new motor. I can still use my original carb,and play withthe jetting, or try the new carb as shipped. any input?

I have yet to get my bbk, but from what I hear a larger carb shouldn't be necessary until you get a performance head, or a bigger bbk. I'll be using my stock carb with a # main jet and #38 pilot jet. Most recommend a #35 pilot jet, which is stock. Mine shipped today, I'll let you know the results when I get it

[replyingto=lykos23]lykos23[/replyingto]even though it's already a so called 100cc? thats why i bought the complete motor, so I wouldn't need a bbk. I figured it's already done.(laziness)

I'm not sure if you got the performance head or not in that case. It may or may not be beneficial to get a larger carb They have bigger bbks out there, it's up to you whether to install it or not, but 83cc should be plenty of power.

[replyingto=lykos23]lykos23[/replyingto]yeah,Ill just try it out. Carbs are easy enough to swap. I'll Let you know on the progress. I just ordered a set of Michelin city grip tires too. Ill put em on when i swap the motor. Those chinese tires suck! The bike already almost slipped out from under me more than once, and thats on a dry road. these things are terrible. Good rubber is of utmost importance to me .
Thanks. keep me posted

no need for a carb over 20mm without a big valve head that is ported, why put a big carb on a head that has small 18mm ports won't do any good and may hinder.

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]Scrappy is selling this motor on his website. They call it a 100 cc engine, and claim it has a 50mm bore. Should it not also have the bbk head already installed?Wouldn't using the stock carb for a 50cc with a bbk,and not up-jetting be the same as using my stock carb on a 100cc motor? I figure, by buying the carb and motor together, it's all done. I am getting old and lazy, and my back kills me now when I do Low work. This way, it saves me time aggravation and pain. (I HOPE) So in our opinion,I wasted my money? jack
