Oh heck, scootn', spring hasn't bothered to show up here yet. We keep going from winter to summer. Ridiculous. Thank God for global warming or we'd be three feet under snow still. ;D
Dom', he at least needs the oil changed. And probably pretty much everything checked. I'm taking him to the motorcycle shop a mile away, as my Harley friend said he would need a lift. And my friend has dealt with this shop, they're really honest and do good work, too. A combination you can't beat. That, and they'll be armed with my shop manual. Cross your fingers for dry streets this evening!
As for a bag, I suppose if your helmet's only $40, then $30 for a bag seems high. But my helmet would've cost a whole lot more, so I got the Fieldsheer that's a little padded and very sturdy.

scootn, not quite. Between Mom (my ride home) undermining things and weather being wet, I haven't gotten my scoot to the shop for all it needs done for spring tune-up. SIGH!!! But Mom's come around now--she was so cute, when I said I really do need to get my scooter in, she asked if I couldn't just wait for a while, like 'til after she's dead. If only the weather will come around, too, then I'll finally be back on the roads. Hopefully tom? Jarlaxle, could you rig something for a lock to go through? Not as good as a key, but enough to discourage folks just wanting to mess around. And that's the saddest of all, someone would cut the strap just to mess with you. Bad enough when they steal to use themselves, or sell. But just to steal for stealing sake? Worst of all. Unspeakable awfulness. Should have their hands cut off. >'Kat My top case DOES have a lock (built into the latch), but it is broken. I need to replace it.

I have a aria helmet that cost me like $400 bucks actually so the case would be for that one, but I'm still hardpressed justifying a $40 bag, ... Ill just carry the helmet around lol

In my case, my helmet sits at work where anyone could screw with it. Not mean, but just move it out of their way and not understanding what it costs and if they do an "oops just knocked it down" that could ruin its protection. So I got the nice bag to keep it nice at work.
And I also picked up an orangey milk crate from a gas station to also stash it in, so there's even less chance of it getting screwed with.

One of the reasons I don't wear a helmet on my scooter. They should freaking make space under the seat to fit a helmet. You can see in China they don't have helmet laws, or the first thing they'd do is make the bin at least fit a full sized helmet (not half sized, yes, even a 3/4 helmet doesn't fit under the seat of a stock scoot).

My Chinese Vintage scooter had space for a 3/4 helmet under the seat and came with a top case sized to hold a full faced modular helmet.
Just because your helmet does not fit under the seat is not a valid excuse for flaunting safety or encouraging those that don't know any better to do the same.
All the reasons people give for not wearing helmets or other safety gear (too hot, can't hear, uncomfortable, infringes on my rights, scooter wasn't designed to store the helmet, etc) are not real reasons and just excuses. The responsible thing to do is wear your gear and encourage newbies to find the right safety gear for the climate and seasons that they ride in.

'digit, using your logic no motorcyclist should wear a helmet then. And no bicyclist, either. Rollerbladers and skateboarders shouldn't wear any protective gear at all, there's no place to store even gloves on skates.
Sorry, I'm with rocky, saying there's no space to store a helmet means you don't wear one is just making an excuse. You don't wear a helmet because you choose not to put your safety as a top priority. And that's your choice. But don't try to justify your choice by blaming the scooter manufacturers. Esp when there's so many options providing storage for a helmet.
I'll continue to lug my helmet into work in its bag, and store it there in the bag in the milk crate. And lug it into shops. Not convenient, but I'm willing to do it to keep my head and face protected when I ride.

Oh wait a minute in many places because of these "Let the rider decide folks" personal injury protection insurance is unaffordable for most. Now general health insurance companies are starting to take note and are exempting payment when a claim involves a motorcycle or scooter or just raising their rates to cover the activites of these folks. How much are responsible riders going to have to pay out or loose due to these folks making excuses on why safety should be ingnored and not required? We are already paying way, way too much for their lack already.

Wearing a helmet is the smart thing to do. Besides, it gives me an excuse to put this on!

Last weekend I rode out to the local flea market to trade in some games and when I went to leave someone sat my helmet in the middle of the parking spot beside me. It was right next to a few stands never thought someone would do that. I sped out of there pissed and they knew it because I kinda let a few rocks fly when I peeled off
