I saw Thor- Ragnorok. It's a very entertaining movie with a surprising story line and fun characters. If you haven't seen it, what in the Nine Realms are you waiting for? Uh, for it to hit video? So do you feel it's not only worth the ticket price, but would suffer on the small rather than big screen?

Thor is definitely worth a rental or download. Since is still in theatres, it will be Easter or so before video sales begin. -I don't think that seeing it on a smaller screen will make the movie less enjoyable. The characters are what make this movie so fun to watch, IMHO.

Thanks, 'bender. I'm always willing to hit the theatre for a movie that cries for the bigness (Dante's Peak is the classic example). But I'd rather save my dollars if the movie won't suffer from seeing it smaller.

I saw the new Murder on the Orient Express yesterday. I really enjoyed it. I liked this Inspector Poirot far more than the one we saw a lot on Public Television.

Coincidently, I watched the 1974 version of Murder on the Orient Express on the tele this weekend. -I am a fan of Albert Finney, but I did not like him as Hercule Piorot. His accent sounded more German than French! -The Academy disagreed with me and nominated Finney for best actor that year. -Seeing Jacqueline Bissett at that age made up for my disappointment in Finney.

I saw the newest Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi. It was a good movie, but not great, IMHO. It had a couple of actors from the 1977 movie and a couple of the droids. The Star Wars faithful will love it.

Saw the new Jumanji with the Rock. Entertaining movie, but I wouldn't download it. It had a lot of motorcycles in it.

Saw Last Jedi, too. I think the faithful HATE it based on articles I've read in our paper.
Me, it wasn't as dreadful as they seem to feel, but it wasn't all that great either. It was a decent, fun movie that was rather too long with its own pointless scene (not as pointless as the meadow romp). SPOILER--I felt they should've picked either Empire or Return, rather than cramming both in there together.

On a happier note, my big bro's family gifted me five AMC tickets, so I can be less discriminating in my movie-going for a bit. "Oh, that looks rather good, I'll go!" rather than "Oh, that looks rather good but is it worth $10 to see in the theatre?" Hooray for my bro!

You have a very thoughtful brother, Kat. Last Jedi may not have lived up to expectations, but it was far better than Rogue One.

We saw Winchester, starring Helen Mirren at the theatre yesterday. I like ghost movies, so I enjoyed it. Definitey better if seen on the big screen. About 15 minutes into the film, a young movie goer suffered a seizure, of some sort. They stopped the movie and turned on the lights until EMS arrived and put her in an ambulance, as a precaution. The theatre resumed showing the movie, and we watched it to the end. I counted my blessings.

Somehow I missed your previous post, 'bender.
I didn't think Rogue One was bad at all. Except for the fact that five minutes in, it dawned on me do NOT get attached to any single one of these characters. Kinda spoiled it a little realising everyone has to die by the end.
I haven't even heard of Winchester. I'll look it up.

"I didn't think Rogue One was bad at all. Except for the fact that five minutes in, it dawned on me do NOT get attached to any single one of these characters. Kinda spoiled it a little realizing everyone has to die by the end." I thought the biggest problem with Rogue One is that it had no enigmatic characters like Jar Jar Binks.
"I haven't even heard of Winchester. I'll look it up." I have seen some documentaries on the Winchester Mansion, with the illogical floor plan, round-the-clock construction activity and the stairwell to nowhere. There are plenty of oddities there to create a good screen play.

Saw Black Panther at the theatre today. It is a good, entertaining movie. Download is fine. The big screen doesn't add that much to it. Very creative story.
