What parts of the variator should be lubed, and what parts shouldnt? I know the pully faces shouldn't be lubed.

I use dr pulley sliders and don't lube anything

If you use a lube that is oil based, all that rubber dust from your belt will stick to it and gum it all up.
I leave mine perfectly clean, but I have seen where people use a lube that actually dries.
I wouldn't, but that's just me.
