Some how I got oil on my handlebars. I am guessing I was changing the oil and got oil on the gloves then pushed the bike forward getting oil on the handlebars. Now when ever I rid its sticky and I smell my hands and it smells like oil not to mention getting it off with soap is annyoying... Any ideas to get this crap off. I tried soap and water and it just sticks on there still I rubbed pretty hard..

Carb cleaner will make it disappear, might disappear your grips too...

Dawn & hot water works for me. No melted plastic!!! Simple Green cost more but it works too. Good luck with that. Dave

I wouldn't use brake cleaner. Thats probably more likely to dissolve your grips than carb cleaner. I'd go with Dave's advice on the Simple Green. If nothing else works Simple green will.

Brake and carb cleaner are not for use on rubber parts. If the oil has not really starting breaking down the plastics and rubber then the Dawn dish soap should do the trick. Purple cleaner would be the last ditch product however at that point it may be cheaper to just order a new set of hand grips from Parts for Scooters.
