I just got done with a short 4.5 mi commute on my Lintex HT-150 QT18. Odometer reads 118.8 mi. All was well this morning, until after I parked it for about 10 mins. It started right up, and I made a quick idle adjustment after the enricher cut off, about 30 sec as the rear wheel was spinning. I then took off and as I hit about 20mph, the scoot just bogged and shut down and will not now restart. I have a feeling that it will start after a period of cooling down. I have drilled a 1/16 hole in the vertical face of the handle of the fuel cap, and have been running my scoot with it slightly open. Any suggestions?

You're going to have to give more detail.
What does bog down mean? Does that mean it ran for awhile struggling to run and then on it's last breath it finally clunked out? Or does that just mean you took off and it was running and then it just stopped working?
Also.. What does it do when you try to start it? Is the starter motor turning?
Have you checked the spark?
Have you adjusted the valves?
People will help if you give more details.

Thank you for the reply. Please see my previous posts, via my profile, regarding the adjustments I have made and my experience with this scoot to date. Spark is gapped .6mm, the coloration looks good, valves adjusted to .12 mm clearance per my manual. I ran it, like I mentioned, 4.5 mi, parked it for about 10 min, started it back up, made a quick idle adjustment after enricher cut off, mounted up, and took off. Then, it just bogged, or bonked, power dropped upon throttle, released throttle, and then motor cut off. It's a new scoot, oil is good, and lines look good. Is it fuel starvation due to compression loss? Or is I vapor lock? Thank you in advance.

Maybe the choke is stuck , have you ohm metered it's resistance value across the leads? Possibly the carb float is knocked out of alignment or hanging . Trash in the main jet circuit, or a main jet needle needs it's height position readjusted .
If you kick start it, you still feel the compression bump ?

Thank you for the reply. My Lintex is brand new. It shouldn't have those issues right off the bat... I hope. Anyhow, I was taking a look at the motor setup today and noted that the clip on the vacuum line at the manifold was not seated at all on the nipple. I don't know if it came that way, or I accidentally moved it, or if it moved on its own. I also noted that one of the two bolts mounting the secondary air pipe was loose. I have since remedied these items and will fire the Lintex up in the morning and take it for a ride. Wish me luck.

Well, it turns out my issue was a loose vacuum line at the manifold, the hose was a bit wide at the nipple, and the clamp had wandered away from the nipple and was loose. So simple, I feel dumb... but lesson learned. I remedied these items and the Lintex has been running the best it has since I got it about a month ago. I am now half way through the 300 mile break in. I can't wait to run it WOT.

That is good to hear that it was just a loose vacuum hose, easy fix. Ride Safe Alleyoop

I was just about to suggest the vacuum line might have come loose while you was adjusting carb.. Glad to hear it is running fine.. Attachments:
