This is were you separate the fair weather riders from the old school hard core riders. I'm in the old school camp. were as I've been on 2 wheels (mini bike,scooter,whizzer,motorcycle)38 of my 48 years. In that time I have ridden on road, gravel road, off road,in sunshine, Rain, sleet, and snow. Not just for the sake of doing it(well sometimes)but life happens. Like any good boyscout I come prepared with all accouterments needed. It's like going to a bike rally I ride my bike. IMHO 75% of posers trailer there to ride 15 or20 miles at rally, then trailer it home. Dave

I like you. Only reason to put a bike on a trailer is severe mechanical failure. Even then you should push it until you can't anymore... Ride on my friend

I got caught in rain really bad and had to bail into the gas station, but on the way home it was slightly raining still and really didn't mind it. Only thing I really disliked was my pants were full out soaked from before the gas station
If I get me some rain pants and the gloves I'd do fine. My jacket is pleather so it beads off

I don't ride in the rain.. It is dangerous enough, that we take changes on 2 wheels, watch for cars that might not see us, ect.. I will not compound the chances to be in a accident. I bought new led lights for my windshield- as turn signals- makes safer and other traffic see it easier. Attachments:

Riding in the rain is only more dangerous if you ride on cheap/bald tires and right as the rain begins. It doesn't feel all that unsafe an a set of all weather tires made by a name brand manufacturer. My scoot is my primary commuter it goes to work unless sheets of ice are on the road. It's not a recreational vehicle it's a vehicle as far as I'm concerned

It's not a recreational vehicle it's a vehicle as far as I'm concerned Scooters were invented in Italy as year round vehicles not just fair weather rides. With the right tires and gear they are fine year round if ridden with just a little common sense however that as of late unfortunately seems to be in short supply. All said if riding in the rain makes you too uncomfortable to be safe then don't ride in the rain. Stay in your safe zone and don't let my or someones elses abilities make you feel pressured to go beyond what is safe for you. Those that are comfortable in the rain still need to exercise caution and make doubly/tripely sure that their bikes, gear and especially tires are up to the task at the speeds at which they will be riding.

I guess, in 1993, me and my tag a long( Dayrel) rode 30 miles in the rain, on a 70 mph highway on 50cc scoots. We rode on highway 63 on the shoulder, which is legal in Missouri. It was chilly out, but we rode anyway. I forgot, we also camped out on scooters and it rained to beat h---.. A thunder storm. We were by this dead tree and all I kept thinking, the tree is going to attact lightning and fall on us.. lol.. But what I meant was, we usually did not ride in the rain.. Occassionally, we had no choice..
