It really is about the joy. My daughter said scooter riders look crazy, cause they always have a big smile on their face.

That's cool I sold my red one recently, my daughter did not approve. I had to promise to buy her a red one cause she was going to ride it when she got big. She's 4 I guess I should start saving. She loves scoots too...

sold my last big boy bike a while back. i enjoy the 36ml round trip to work, as well as the occasional joy ride on my scoot. really starting to like this scooter thing. don't have to shift gears and my shoes don't fill up with water when it rains. plus, i don't need a bike that'll do 150 when i can only legally run 70. and lovin' that fuel economy......

I cage rage it more than I'd like to admit, at least during what little winter NC has (this year has been an exception, while certainly not that cold it's been long). So generally just joy rides now although for most of last year a bike or scooter was my only vehicle. Once I get a bigger scooter I will use it for commuting purposes every time I need to go somewhere alone when it's dry. If I had a 500cc again you wouldn't be able to keep me off of it, for any purpose

Cause I can't afford a Ridley....I might switch up someday, but I have a blast riding this 150 around. I'd like to get a 250 someday. I ride strictly for fun.

I started riding at age 9 now I'm 55 and have bad knees and a bad back (12 surgery's in all) was riding a 1993 HD bagger but it was just getting too hard on me so I gave it to my brother in law ( he allways wanted one but didn't have the money) I am missing riding and am retired so now I'm looking for a small trike. Thinking on the IB 250cc Road Warrior.

long time dirt biker here, at 43 yrs young. wife went with me to the dirt bike shop 1 day, saw some scooters...was determined to buy 1. That night she ordered a 150cc znen from CA and had it delivered clear across the US to our house a week later. After riding her around town a few times, she kicked me off it and took over! Got her licensed up, order me the same scooter in a different color and off we went. We have many 25mph-45mph roads where we live so our scooters get us around with no worries. In the summer, we're riding all around town doing errands and such. The fun factor is off the hook!

On a side note, I'm curious how much us dawgs do use a cage, if at all? Right after I got my first bike I sold my car and did great w/o one for a long time. But eventually the convenience of moving large items or people especially regardless of the weather got the better of me...

Mine is just a toy only ride when the weather is nice for a couple of hours at a time so cages most of the time. Alleyoop

I have a truck and the wife had a van till she blew the engine yesterday. I ran the truck 10 times this winter to work (there was snow and ice on the road and I leave before the plows) and I use it on the weekends if I have things to pick up that are too big for the scoot. I go in a car to church every Saturday with all 4 kids and the wife. The rest of the time I am cageless..

If you were a bike rider as a kid, do you remember that feeling when you woke up in the morning, especially on weekends when you knew you could ride half of the day (back when kids didn't have to be constantly watched., and you couldn't wait to just get outside and get on your bike? I feel that every day regarding my stupid 49cc Chinese scooter. Absolutely MUST ride, and I've wanted a scooter/moped since I was 5 years old, watching my neighbor, Mr. Vaughn, pedal his to a start and riding down to the Tiny Giant. He later gave us his moped; it was broken, and we never fixed it, but that heightened the fever for me. After that, still having never ridden a scooter/moped, I owned a Kawasaki and rode that, rode Harley's and Hondas, and while all of them had their fun, they are nothing like scooters. There is something very bike-like about scooters which applies to my first part of this statement. I pull up on sidewalks and park (yesterday pulled up on two sidewalks; one was a friend's business to talk about revamping his web site and the other was the post office, which I parked on twice--people see you rolling down the sidewalk and you would expect disapproval--all I see is envy...)
