Just being nosy. I wondered why you all ride. Me I use it as my primary commuting vehicle and occasionally get out just for the heck of it.

It is all about the ride. Wind in your hair, full vision and the feeling of freedom.

I ride the mojo for fun and enjoyment. I ride the maggi for longer trips. I get claustrophobic when I have to drive my cages. I love riding because the sights, sounds and even smells are better than driving a cage.

Sometimes, well all the time, on my scooter riding, its the only place I have total peace, nobody talking at me, no worries, just riding. I love it, always have, I'd rather have my bike than a car any day!

My scooter was purchased as a commuter to save money on gas. That's how I justified it to my wife, who was concerned about me riding on 2 wheels. But, when the weekends come round, I'm off on an adventure either with on an organized group ride, or just going solo to wherever the front wheel winds up pointing. It makes me sad when the weather is bad, and I have to drive the car to work.

After having a lung removed and going through cemo I wanted something just to run around town to the Post Office, Bank, parmacy gro. store and coffee shop. I did not trust myself on 2 wheels so bought 3 wheel scooter and love it.

Commuter here. Bought mine to help my wagon last longer.
I've never been much for joy-riding, not even in hs or college. My car was and is transportation. Ditto my scooter. Although I do enjoy driving each when I'm not just going to work.

Had a thought--maybe if I had folks to go riding with, then maybe I'd find the pleasures of joy-riding.

Well, I'm like most...
I've always liked ANYTHING on 2 wheels... Started with a good old fat-tire Schwinn as a little nipper. Then a Brit "Horex" 500 cc single that I never rode because I sold it for a profit to another 10-year-old... LOL! Then a Go Kart brand "Big Bear Scrambler" TINY mini-bike with a screaming McCulloch kart motor that I actually got street-licensed. My first road-bike! And THAT little 35-pound beastie would top 100 mph on 4-inch wheels! And, I could carry it right onto a bus or train to go elsewhere... And hang it on a nail next to my college locker. Talk about beating the big-city parking problem! Just carry your ride with you, then fire it up and head for the freeway!
Then several incarnations of my beloved Harley chopper... a 1957 pan-head hard-tail that ended up more exotic and expensive than I could imagine today... My handle "OldChopperGuy" comes from that one... Along the way, a BSA "Hornet" 650 cc cafe-racer, a few other lesser Harley choppers, a 1967 Honda 300 cc "Super Hawk" (STILL one of my FAVORITES!) and finally a brand-new 1970 Harley Electra-Glide.
That Glider got stolen in 1977 and I never could afford to get another big bike. (Anyone out there want to buy a clean title to a 1970 Electra Glide?). Could be handy for a new build, and I can always use a few bucks... LOL!
Finally, after no bikes for decades, 5 years ago I could no longer resist a brand-new Chinese scoot for under $700 delivered to my door... An actual RIDE for less than the insurance premium on a Harley...
Enter "Lil' Bubba"... My Xingyue Eagle 150... Not the best ride ever built, but not bad. FABULOUS for the money! I am too old and arthritic to muscle a nasty chopper anymore (not to mention too broke!) and Lil' Bubba gets me all over town in affordable comfort. And hey, adolescent kids and old seniors think it's REALLY cool... All that for the same price as a Cushman or Vespa back in the sixties when all my love for bikes got started.
Can't beat that!
Whether crossing the country, or bringing home cat litter from Wally World, always remember: It IS the RIDE!
Leo (& Betty too) scootin' in Texas!
