I had read either on here or somewhere else (can't find the thread) that CF Moto was dropping their favored dealerships and limiting their sale of scooters.
On their website, they show 2 650 cc bikes and one 250 scoot and one 250 bike that was the V5 now the CRUZ and a couple unknowns.
Seems they're gong towards ATV's.
So, that being said, I went down to the local Powersports scooter place and asked them if it was true. The sales person (the guys wife) had no idea what I was talking about. The repair tech/owner/husband came out and confirmed what I had asked, that CFMoto was limiting they bikes/scoots they were able to get as a dealer.
They were hoping to get other models from other distributors. And something other than blue for the V5/CRUZ. He wasn't sure what he was gonna do to survive. He's the only 'real' scooter dealer in town. There are a couple Vespa type 'dealers' that are right next to the college, but they just sell em to the college kids.
My GF really liked the one remaining Commutor/Fashion/Helix clone that was left on the showroon floor. A Brand New 2008!!! !! A NEW 2008??? The wife/salesperson said if I bought it today, she'd lower the price by $100. (from $3499 or $3999 - I forget) that they could service it, etc etc etc. That it was great on gas in todays economy, etc etc etc I replied that it was 5 years old, and it was just another toy, so saving on gas wasn't really an issue. I said I'd think about it.
I went home, and saw a Honda Helix on craigslist for $1750, with 7000 miles. If the GF wants one other than red, we can spend another $300 and get new plastic in whatever colour she wants.
Anyway, seems CF Moto is getting out of the scooter business and focusing on ATV's.
But, thankfully, there are still plenty of sites with parts available.
Too bad, cause I really like the Helix clones. Biggest Chinese maxiscooter I could find. (Other than a Lukeous Morphedeous)
Anyone else confirm or deny?
Just putting it out there in the event y'all see fewer and fewer CF Motos.

Talk to Cookies. But I think they're abandoning the cheaper 250 scooters in favor of a Honda style lineup.

I think CF Moto, Linhai and Znen have in their sights the long term goal of eating the Japanese manufacturers lunch.

Let's see, when you ride that scooter of the lot it is then a used 2008 model. Worth what, $1500?
I would expect 10% off per year, or 50% off for a 5 model year old vehicle of any kind. The fact they are not willing to discount it is why they still have it sitting there. Also, CFMoto is abandoning that market, so you will probably not be able to even get parts for it.
Walking away was the smart choice.

It's not like you're gonna have the parts on the shelf to fix it. Manager/repair tech/husband already said he didn't know what he was gonna do. Fortunately, the Helix is still alive (parts wise) and parts should be no problem. Me tinks a used Helix is betta than a new (5 year old) chinese clone. (not to bash chinese scoots, cause I got 2 of em,) just saying ifin I gonna spend $3999, me gonna look at a used honda/yammy/suzieque first. I do wish em luck tho, cause I'm kinda gettin into this scooter thing. But, gimme a break. $100 off???

I got on of the last Echarm with EFI . Yes CFMoto dropped there 150cc scooter line up in favor of the 650c motorcycles . What had happened is they are such a better quality of scooters some shady people paid off the EPA to block a huge shipment of Echarm , Glory and Ejewel scooters from entering the US by saying they were not emission compliant when mine is to Euro2 standard for emissions . Mine was sold as new but was a 2010 instead of 2011 but has a killer 2 year warranty even electronics and is owner transferable . Honda only has a limited 1 year warranty for engine and drivetrain only .
Im over 15,000 miles with only oil changes a single valve adjustment at2,200 miles and still is a beast . Some other brands like Qlink used CFMoto engines where are stronger than the GY6 but does not have an aftermarket select of parts
