the scooter which is a 2008 roketa 50cc scooter at idle, seems to "breath". by that i mean it slightly idles high for a few seconds and then lowers back to normal constantly, like it is breathing. the idle does not get real high just a slight increase in idle then it lowers back to normal. does anyone know what is going on. thank you.

It is normal to idle higher when its cold and you first start it up then idle down once it warms up

try to smooth it out with a/f screw, if that doesn't work adjust the valves, clean the carb jets with carb cleaner. You can get smooth idle with the right jetting and a/f mix through the jet size, a/f mix and needle clip postions. Your idle jet could be too large check to see what size jet the carb has in it stock scoots usually run best with idle jets under 35.

I think he's saying it does it all the time even after riding it awhile after the choke has shut off

Check hoses and intake manifold for cracks. Also check the air box. If it still has the emission stuff on it, it may be a bad vapor canister.

If the IDLE BOUNCES it is running a little LEAN, if NO AIR LEAKS anywhere around the Carb then Adjust the Fuel Ratio Mixture. Turn it 1/4 Counter Clockwise and wait about 10 seconds or so to allow the motor to adjust to the new setting and see when it settles down. You may have to do several 1/4 turns. Alleyoop
