Youtube videos are freezing and the sound is going out all of a sudden..I tried doing a system restore to a few days ago and it still is F'ing up. I'm doing a system defrag now on it and well see... Think its a virus? I have virus protection but I don't think it includes certain problems.. anywho

You can always go to one of the antivirus places and have them do an online scan of your hard drive.
Did you dump all the old cookies and temp internet files?

Make sure browser(s) and Adobe Flash are updated as well as install Adobe Shockwave . Make sure to have the latest Java runtime environment , Windows and device driver updates . Get a video started right click on it then go to settings . Look for the folder icon and move the cursor all the way to the right to allow it to buffer more data packets . You Tube can have a lil lag with heavy traffic just like if on an interstate you can not zoom with congestion . Best to defrag in safemode by pressing the F8 key after the BIOS post beep before Windows starts to load up . I use Iobits Smart Defrag as its better and has an option to turn off when done www.adobe.com look on the right side after you scroll down . www.java.com to get Java . I prefer to to to use the offline installation in which you download the whole file then manually install it instead of the online version I also use Iobits Toolbox which has many items that you unzip to a folder or USB drive rather than install . Under optimize you can unselect unneeded startup items . You can right click on the start button select properties , start menu and put a check in show command line . Then you can go start , run and type msconfig to change unneeded startup daemons

Adobe shockwave is needed? I wouldn't know why, that is a music player. Do you have some strange file that only shockwave plays?

I always put both Flash and Shockwave on all computers and never have any video problems . I also use K Lite mega codec pack for Divx movies . Firefox ETC use a diff version of Flash than MSIE does

I'm not sure it it's part of the problem or not, but do you have a cooling pad for your laptop? Overheating is an issue for laptops.

Typically when I see that with computers it needs a cleaning... the heat sink gets dusty and clogged with fuzz, sometimes its files that need to be cleaned, use ccleaner or the like to clear all old files and cookies. Maybe delete any older files that you don't use any more if more than 70% of your hdd capacity is used. If none of the above works the heat transfer paste may be old and dried out and would be good to replace it. (After a certain amount of heat cycles it dries out and doesn't work as well) I work on computers doing this stuff. WWW.h3nrygocrazy.info

(After a certain amount of heat cycles it dries out and doesn't work as well) I work on computers doing this stuff. HTTP://WWW.h3nrygocrazy.infoI almost positive that's what the deal is with mine. It's about 5-6 years old. Not to derail the thread, but I had to go to power options and set the power of the CPU down from 100% to around 70%--- just to keep it from shutting down. I'm almost positive it's the thermal paste. I took my laptop apart completely and it looked a little crusty. Haha--- the PC guy I took it to couldn't even figure that out---he had it for a month, but didn't charge me. How hard is it to reapply the thermal paste? Anyway back on topic..

Exactly, many "high tech computer repair" places have no idea what typical issues, for the computers they are working on, are. Im 23 and have been working on computers older than me from when I was 11, but I don't have any certifications so no one will hire me. Lol
Yes yes, back on topic lol
