Anyone ever try or was successful at buffing a helmet visor? I scratched mine (dropped) right on the front of the visor where I look out.

it's possible but depending on how deep the scratches it takes a lot of elbow grease. this vid should work for you:

Hi, I done the same thing. I got a buffer wheel fro harbor freight for my grinding wheel but u must use the white stick, dont use the gray or red, it has abrasives in it. go lightly, dot get the shield hot. It wont take the scratch ot but will take out the whit scuff ot. On mine the scratch is there but not noticable enough to bother you. Mine worked out fine.

I guess you could use a dremel but put in on slow rpms, you dont want to get the shield hot or it will distort the shieldand then you are done. Its then a new shield

A drill would probably work better than a Dremel.

Wet sand the scratch with 1500 grit until its smooth then buff it with compound.

I know new shields can be on the expensive side, but have you taken a look around to see what a replacement costs for your model? You might find a surprise sale or an after-market version on the cheap.

I would rather just fix it w some compound and sandpaper, which I will be trying soon. Went to look at dremel bits and didn't know what to look for lol
