Pretty ugly. I wonder why you're engine wouldn't shut off, though?

I would splurge and get a Kevlar belt this time. If you like pushing it super hard I might upgrade to a 250cc scooter so less wear. Sorry about that!

Wow that was in so many pieces . Was it a Gates ? Mine has a lil over 4,000 and looked good but the other day it was binding so I will pull off the cover and inspect it . I ordered a Bando 788 17 28 belt already to have before mine is gone unless it is already . Glad you did not get hurt .

Major bummer. Be sure to clean out the clutch and variator. The little pieces of the belt get everywhere.

Glad you did not get hurt . The thought of a chunk of the belt(or 2 or 3) jamming between the clutch bell and clutch pads, is actually pretty scary. I don't know what the chances are, but if something(s) jammed in there, it could potentially lock up the rear wheel.

Yeah i took all that stuff out, and cleaned it the best i could, variater cooling blades were all pretty much broke. I put all naruke stuff back in but the clutch bell would not fit it locked the wheel up because of contact with the cvt cover

My belt snap on my doing about 50mph and after i got stopped, i couldn't get the motor to stop running used kill switch and took keys out ran for like a minute at super high rpms but it still starts and runs. Some pictures of the belt or what was left Wow!! You do nice work on belts huh? I had a Stihl 385 chainsaw once that used to do that...get into a screaming rev and the kill switch did not work. Shop worked on it and said at that high rpm...it was running off compression ignition like a diesel and that high compression 2T's were prone to that. The rev was so high it no longer sounded 2T...whistled like a jet engine. Craziest thing I ever saw. He richened up the carb and added another base gasket...fixed the problem.

Sometimes people come and complain about how crappy their belts are, because they break at 2k miles, but then again, they have equipped their scoots with BBK's and performance parts. How can you not upgrade the belt, after you did all these non-stock upgrades on your scooter? How can you expect to go outside of manufacturer's specs, and not expect certain parts not to be upto the task?
Just saying...
