My Chinese scoot has a large bulb that i cant get anywhere around here and is only 6 bucks but shipping is 3 times that.
Other than that its not very bright and looks funny along with my LED fork mounted lights. What can I do to change the bulb to something more readily available and brighter?
Can I just change the socket assembly and put a different bulb in there ?

My scooter had an adaptor in the housing for that strange bulb. Remove that and you can get bulbs that will fit directlt into the headlight anywhere car headlight bulbs are sold.

I don't know what bulb you have I found replacement ones online, I think it was ebay, the replacement ones were 50 watts and the originals were 35 so I got an upgrade on the amount of light they put out.
You might explore putting quartz halogen lights in, they put out a lot more yeat though.

You can sometimes go up 10 watts but never use the 55 watts as they get much hotter and take away juice from charging up the battery . I read several threads where some tried 55 watts and melted the housing . A 1157 LED in the tail light helped my Magnum a lil bit
