I bought a new oil pump, but they have them with different numbers of teeth. What can I do to pump more oil through the engine? I don't know if I can use another gear? Can someone explain the gears and the number of teeth? What options I have to use a different gear, if possible, and which gear will increase the amount of oil pressure or volume? I have the 1p39qmb engine 50cc.

Can someone explain the gears and the number of teeth? What options I have to use a different gear, if possible, and which gear will increase the amount of oil pressure or volume? I have the 1p39qmb engine 50cc. The oil pump gears are different sizes. They are 2 different sizes because there are also 2 different gears on the crankshaft that drive the gear for the oil pumps. If you have the 16 tooth crank gear, then you need the oil pump gear that has 33 teeth. If you have the 22 tooth crank gear, then you need the oil pump gear that has 47 teeth. The oil pump gears are not interchangeable. The 16t/33t setup is more common. The gears on the crank can be swapped though, but you’d need two different cranks for that, unless someone sells just the 16t or 22t gear itself (which I haven’t seen yet). Here is a thread that shows the differences: itistheride.boards.net/thread/5604/139qmb-oil-pump

I'm really pissed today if you can't tell. I feel the pain with this winter stuff and get ready another Nor Easter is on the way. Slave labor and a ecological disaster in china. The product is so inexpensive that American manufactures won't even look at trying to compete with a true quality product. Just stay warm and settle into a nice adult beverage of your choice....

This is where Im lost I know next to nothing about carbureation. Is it the air mixture screw. If so haw should I make the adjustment?

Almost 80 the week before last now were having the second blizzare since then. Only in New England. The weather is like women here. I want to move so fn bad its not funny. I've lived my whole life here I'm 62 now and I can't take the weather or the nasty tempered people here anymore!! I want 70 or 75 degrees all year long. Haha maybe when I get to Heaven!!! But I'm going crazy looking at my scoot all rebuilt motor just need to tune the carb in and going crazy cause I can't take it for a test drive. Next project cvt rebuild anyone know what rollers to use for all around performance? I'm putting 1500rpm springs in the rear clutch that seems like I will get all around performance from that I don't have a clue for rollers in the variator can anyone help out on this?

There isn’t going to be a magic number for roller weights, so it may take a couple tries to get it to where you want it. Your body weight, engine mods, and riding environment are major factors.
My guess is somewhere between 6.5g and 7.5g to keep the rpms down at top speed so you aren’t redlining with your newly added power.
In my experiences, the bigger the bore the heavier the weights (over a stock 50cc). I used to run 6.5g on my stock 50cc, but with the 72cc I ran 7.5g or 8g.

I was going to go with 7 or 8g rollers. What about the springs in the variator? All the kits come with blue springs! Can you explain that to me? Thanks for your response I guess I had the right idea with 7 or 8g rollers. But I need detailed information. I have to have the whole skinny on things so I fully understand how these thins work together! I just want to know exactly what I'm doing. I hate doing things 2 or three times to get it straight.

Dont leave out of your Vari tuning all important Belt Climb, To get the most of your build really work on this in conjunction with the Vari weights. You can see the wasted area of one of my so called hot rod Vari setups here.

Now this is when I moved to some other product and a ankle biter setup, I use a Sharpie to draw a line on the new vary to check my Belt Climb. That Little Dot at the top is all thats left of my Sharpie Line. Here is another shot of my inner with the Sharpie dot at the bottom.

Here is both the inner and outer when n I did my annual Vari/Clutch/rear Gear maintenance this past fall You can see my belt climb and to point out my outer is Hard Anodized and has virtually no wear..

The different colored springs have a different stiffness. Here is a quick basic write-up: itistheride.boards.net/thread/16/contra-clutch-springsIt seems you have a good starting point for weight in the rollers. If you consider yourself a bigger or heavier guy (not extremely), then you may wanna lean more towards 7g-7.5g, rather than 8g for starters. I’d just get a couple different weight sets in that range and see what you like best. The ones you don’t use can come in handy as a backup if needed, in case your variator gets trashed or maybe the belt breaks and the rollers don’t survive. Any idea what your rollers weighed in your stock 50, or that are in the variator now?
