I purchased a new GY6 150 scooter, its a handsome boy style with the 2 front headlights. I have about 415 miles on it now (well according to the odometer which is never right) and for some weird reason I have only been getting about 50 miles out of an entire tank of fuel. I have done no modifications to it. I weigh around 250lbs and I ride mostly on flat roads with small hills. My top speed is only about 49mph at WOT (according to GPS not speedo) and according to the RPMs its 8k. I do not have a windshield or a trunk on the back of it and I only carry my gloves under my seat. I have checked the air pressure both tires are around 32 psi and I am not leaking fuel at all, I also checked the oil to see if the fuel was somehow ending up in the crankcase but its not.
And for those wondering, yes I have already changed out the junk oil and gearbox lube that comes from the factory, I have owned scooters 49cc and 150s since I was 13 and this one by far is the biggest fuel hog I have ever seen.
The only thing I can think of is the front CVT or the clutch is not working properly or when it was assembled at the factory they put to light of rollers in it causing the RPMs to stay to high at WOT.
Any Suggestions?

8000 RPM is way out of the power band you're contra spring is too strong or your weights are way to light Or the CVT is getting jammed I have had all three Time to open her up and take a look At 50 you should be at about 6000 RPM Make sure your weights are at least 11 grams I liked having 14 gram weights
As an after thought you may also have a short block gear set

I will definitely be opening it up soon. I just have to get access to an impact wrench to get the cvt off and measure the weights. Is there another way to get the CVT loose? I know you can take it off with hand tools there has to be a trick to it I have just never figured it out.
I know when I purchased this bike I was surprised when I rode 15 miles and the fuel gauge was between full and half, I even took it back to the dealer I got it from and he tried to tell me it was normal break-in fuel milage. I said yea for a monster truck maybe!

Wow kinda wild the engine is even capable of using that much fuel in so little time.

I have that exact Impact from Harbor freight, in addition to my pneumatics. It has plenty of Snots to blow off 1-1/4 rusted mower nuts and much more. Ive used mine for all my CVT tuning. Some really good money spent then add the coupon and always some free swag from Harbor freight. Cant beat it
