You would find that very frustrating since it has the tiny fuel tank under the floor boards.

Specs say a 1.3 gallon fuel capacity - same as my Kymco...
Thinking of this for my son, who currently has a 50cc, and is thinking about going larger...
Where is the battery, then - under the seat?

Cheesh... What a GREAT looking ride. These "pseudo-Italian" looking 150's are my absolute favorites cosmetically.
HOW can a rider TRASH an engine so SOON in a new scoot? Oh well, if you could get it cheap (and with the trash motor it should be near free... LOL!) and install a new motor your son would be totally knocked out with such an upgrade from the 50cc!
I wonder if the owner bought it new, it had little oil from the factory (awful oil at that) and he just rode it and it blew. The new tire seems weird though... It didn't get ridden enough to wear out a tire...?
Lots of work, but certainly "doable" with just ordinary tools. It's a project for sure, but considering the bad motor, no matter how nice the rest of it looks not many buyers will be interested. I'd try to get it for less than $200. $500 is too close to getting a good running one.
If, and it's a big "IF"... you can get it for next to nothing, it might be the "ultimate" project build because it's in such good shape except for the engine.
My 2-cents worth...

The battery is near the back of the seat in the alternate fuel tank location. With the large flat front fuel economy is not very good at speeds over 30 mph so the 1.3 gallons only goes about 65 miles with a 150 powering it.
Same bike as my Lance Vintage. Top case latch is weak and tends to pop open if you ride over chatter bumps in the road.
Rear fairing tends to fail where it bolts to the metal scuff plates. Mirror mounts are a bit weak and tend to fail too. Almost forgot that the rear fairing tends to trap heat and make the bike run hot since it has to cool through a tiny vent behind the seat under the top case.
Bike is only really worth the asking price if it was in decent working order. With a blown engine its only worth about $75.

I was thinking pick it up for $200-$250, add engine, for <$700 you've got a scoot! But, cooler heads will prevail... Once again, you have stopped me from madness and ruin...

Rockynv,
GREAT advice! Have a bone on The Old Chopper Guy! Yeah, with older scoots so affordable, it would likely be a better idea to just get a good-running one.
Ride safe!

From the ad--"...a large helmate, and topcharger included.plenty of storage front to back,a tire lock too.sorry cant do pic,."--so, does his helpmate appreciate being called "large"? Is a topcharger better than a bottom charger? Is front storage something on the fender, or is it a little wire basket to match the milk crate on the back? And again--"Tank. New motor carb, just run in, oil change New battery, tires, strong perfect fast at six six mph plus Keys title in hand clean clear must be transferred time of purchase for my plate to be used immediately P.S. this scooter is a motorcycle passing traffic and. Comfortable for a two plus person like myself cell now text offering interained, cash in hand for test drive only by appointment . Summerland and SanCarlos. "--first off, again why would a engine with so few miles need replacing? Second, of course it's a motorcycle passing traffic. What else would it be, a semi? Third, what's "a two plus person like myself"? Finally (and for real this time) what is "cell now text offering interained"? I'm guessing that's typo'ed or something, but I totally cannot figure out what he meant to write. Gosh, I love when folks just stumble through their typing in their sales ads. But none of these are as rich as my fave to date--"Scotter. Blue. $500." (with no pic even) >'Kat, being catty

In seriousness now, 'gull, I agree with rocky that unless it's stupidly-dirt cheap (read under $100) then go for a running bike. The one you posted looks gorgeous, but why pay for the bike twice? OTOH, maybe you can get the seller down under $100. Contact him and point out what a new engine costs, then mention some of the ad rocky posted, and see what he'll take.

I'm usually a fan of Chinese scooters but when "Blows Up" after so few miles it's indicative of abuse. It's senseless to put a new engine in one when that happens. The cost of the engine, the time it takes to install it and the possibility of further discoveries makes it pointless. Buy the Kymco Agility instead. It's a top notch scooter and the price is right. Just make sure there isn't other things, visible and covered, that go along with the plastics damage.
