Will keep an eye out Leo thanks!
I know its a bit off topic but you need to watch out for those center lane reflectors as well if plowing snow,, when I worked for the county I hit one with my plow guess it was a little high,,that sucker knocked the cover right off my steering wheel and about lost my two front teeth...true story. The guys went out and grinded it down the next day.

For the $$ you are going to spend on the gasket maker you could buy a complete gasket kit for a few more bucks..I wouldn't mess around with the head gasket,,so much compression and blast going on up there.Im sure it would be fine as I reused them on mower's/briggs and stratton,,but these GY6's have alot more compression upstairs. No,,a dremel is not a suitable tool for honing,,I would do it by hand before attempting that..lol Also make sure to read up on HOW TO HONE before running a hone into your bore,,there is a proper way to cross hair the bore.. Hey TVNACMAN,, Thanks for the honing tool idea,,might run up to HF today and take a gander. I will grab a Wendy's combo of coarse since its next door Tom

Have you actually checked the valves to see if they are seating well? Even with the gaps right if you have a valve blowing by you'll have no compression to speak of? Take the head and sit it down on a flat spot with the sparkplug in tightly and just pour the whole valve seat area with a thin oil or WD-40 and wait to see if the oil stays put or seeps out onto the surface below. If it does then you need to remove the valves and reseat them with valve grinding compound if the valves do not have a bad burned spot on them. I bought a brand new head once with badly seated valves. JR JR,,thats a great idea! Im going to do that with my new head just to make sure the valves are seating before I slap it together,,still waiting on a rocker assembly so I have time,,plus its 9 degrees outside,,next time the motor is coming out of the frame,,alot easier than dealing with those body panels

I measured the combustion chamber on my stock head it is 57 dead nuts..too cold out to go get the jug and piston..lol
There you go ksaun123,,that looks like a nice stock set for $40 man,,cant go wrong,,just make sure to check ring end gap and all that happy stuff..I have all the info you will need on my BBK thread for measurements and ring clocking.
Torque head nuts in a crisscross pattern to 15-17ft lbs...and don't forget to install the 4 dowels..lol
And use assembly lube too..I just use STP oil treatment or some thick Rotella for that...don't want any dry starts...

30K miles,,holy crap!! Id be happy with 15k.. Wonder how the bottom end is looking?..I would save my pennies and get a $300 drop in replacement for it IMO.
That motor doesn't owe you a dime man!!

Put it at TDC and do a leak down test,,very easy to do and it will tell you exactly where you are leaking...
Hiss in carb= intake valve Hiss in exhaust pipe=you got it,,,exhaust valve Hiss in oil filler hole=yup...rings/piston/scored jug...
I made one out of a HF compression tester and an old air regulator valve,,very easy...
Hope you get it figured out man!!

Yeah man you cant,, The rings break into the jug they are used in,,so not a good idea,,anytime you hone you need to replace rings IMO. I have a jug , piston and rings with less then 1000 miles on them " probably more like 700 miles . if we can get together , I can send them to someone who can hone the cylinder and maybe someone can buy a new set of rings then he'll be set. I'll post a pic . I have a good stock jug, piston and rings also if he wants to just pay the ride,,it has about 4000km on it,,would need a hone and rings like yours,,then just a gasket kit and hes ready to rip...I should probably just buy a hone kit for 57-63mm since Im going to be doing this hobby the rest of my life...I already purchased a 20 ton shop press from HF and man,,that thing was awesome doing the gears on my scoot,,the intermediate gear pressed off/on like butter...if any of you guys need gears pressed I will do it for free,,just pay the ride both ways

Yup,,the separator has nothing to do with compression or oil,it is not a ring even though most call it one,,the end gap doesn't matter on it,the two ends will touch slightly,,and it doesn't really matter where you put the gap,,its basically just a separator/spacer for the oil rings,,it sits back inside the groove and acts like a cushion between the two oil rings,,it never even hits the wall from what I see..

Did you have the cylinder off that motor,,if so did you clock the rings?

Here is a quick unedited video of how I clocked my rings....
