if your wheel is out of balance you need a new wheel. tires can be junk out of the box especially china ones. dont ever think about china car tires... they are square haha
if you have a tire with funny wear that makes the steering shake, you can put it on the back if you want to use up the tread. if you are trying to save money anyway... if you got the cash just buy some kendas IMO.

the zook is cool. i want a motocompo too but hard to find of course. either appear to be able to fit into a backseat.
kat- almost any honda is a good honda. (there are certain accords im not fond of) im a fan of the old school stuff mainly. and an automatic cruiser isnt really my cup of tea, but if you like the way it looks then dont worry about performance im sure it will do all you need and more.

i have a gas and diesel 3 wheeler. but they are later model. used to have an older cab truckster, but traded it. wasnt the rounded cab, but was the train looking one.
i know where there is a 4 wheeled van cushman for pretty cheap. fiberglass shell! it funky looking, just needs some warp nacelles to be a shuttlecraft haha. no joke im totally gonna get it and put warp nacelles on it and starfleet insignia and tag it and drive it on the road haha

i will see what pics i can dig up. ill have some elite pics probably soon but im gonna be working on an odyssey inspired go kart for now... if i can fit it past dad's junk to get to the welder! my opinion of the zook is that its basically a toy to putt around on at car shows, unless you live bicycle distance from your work then i suppose you could use it as a downtown scoot not really meant for any real "open road" but you should really just trade it to me for a 150 to swap on your scoot no really id be interested in it but i read that it was in rough shape? anyway id like to see what you have.

I think you're not defining "buzzed" the same as me, or the current ad campaign against buzzed driving. You're going strictly by BAC, not reaction to the drink. Maybe you can handle three scotches and you're just fine, no change in reaction or perception or anything. Maybe I can drink one Coors and not realize I'm not noticing stuff and my reactions are slowed. You would have a lot higher BAC, but I would be the one that's buzzed. So buzzed driving would be as bad as drunk driving, 'cause you're not as alert as you should be. And those "million times" you say you were buzzed, I'd argue you weren't. Sure, you had alcohol in you, but it sounds like your body can handle a few drinks and not be very affected--not buzzed. >'Kat wow this thread got weird. kat, im not strictly going by BAC. i used to drink more back when i got my dui therefore a 1.1 wasnt enough to effect my driving skills, (i was speeding not swerving) today a 1.1 would have me half passed out because i dont drink much anymore. i am referencing BAC because thats what they use to quantify these sort of things, and they came to that one average as the limit, thru the numbers. if it werent tru, why would they let drivers under 0.08 go? buzzed is just as bad because you still arent alert "as you should be"? so slightly tipsy with eyes wide open is just as bad as half passed out running up on the curb? i personally observed two men in a suburban driving down a four lane main road at night, running about 40 mph, and running up on the curb as the road gently curved, not once, but three times in less than two minutes. when they did stop at the redlight (a miracle in itself) i got their attention and the passenger rolled down the drivers window. the driver was almost unconscious seat reclined, and passenger so drunk he yelled "LEAVE HIM ALONE HES DRUNK" at me. Or how about texting not watching the road at all, been run off the road by folks texting or otherwise engaged in other activities while behind the wheel like reading books. a girl in the military survived 3 tours in afganistan came home to NC and was killed by a guy updating his facebook on an ipad. i was in charlotte with my mother and came upon a woman driving an escalade while holding her phone so that she and her two daughters in the back seat could all watch youtube together. i am not exaggerating she was watching with them, i got her attention at a light and asked her if she really ought to be doing that while driving her daughters around in a 3 ton steel can thru traffic. ill take a buzzed driver thats focused on driving home over a slap drunk, texting and makeup and magazine reading folks, and people twittering out of their twatters while they should be checking their mirrors and looking out for slower vehicles like US. and i dont know why you would argue to better know my condition. i think i know when i am buzzed, its sort of the point, you can feel it. and i never said it was always alcohol either, but whatever the case, i know my body well enough to know exactly what i can and cannot do. so please dont act like im some child who doesnt know how alcohol works. all that being said, im just saying that there is plenty of things that are just as bad if not worse than partial alcohol intoxication, it depends on the person it depends on their skill level and it depends on how much they are paying attention to what they are doing period. there are more automotive accidental deaths that are not alcohol related than are, but there is almost nothing done about THOSE silent killers. oh and dont forget bears.

that vid was poor driving all around. she was hogging the center of the lane in whats obviously one of those countries that has a crapload of 2 wheel traffic. the guy passing was OBVIOUSLY too big to be passing folks like that. if she didnt see him coming, then she should have been paying more attention thats why these things have mirrors.
and id be afraid to stop in a place like that, simply bc thats the sort of place where people DONT stop for things like that so if you did stop, youd probably be run over as well....

hey theres a school down the street... im sure there is a slide on the playground. ill bring a water bottle i was actually just trying to give a hard time about BOTH golf course pictures haha but no really this shouldnt be background tags this should be like put your scoot RIGHT NEXT to something. maybe ride your scoot DOWN a water slide, or try to ride it THRU the net (pic of you wrapped in net with scooter lying on ground would also be acceptable)

i dunno man, are you sure that was a golf course back there? i mean i see grass but i dont see any holes or flags or golfers or golf carts... ;D just kidding
seriously tho, can you guys not park any closer to your targets? i mean i can tell thats some sort of recreation area, but why not park up on the grass a little closer? i would have driven right up on to the golf course and taken a pic right on the green. isnt that one of the fun things about a scooter? you can drive it almost anywhere and the worst that can happen is someone tell you "you cant ride that here go away"
i would include a picture of a water park slide or volley court with this blabbing, but i dont have any of those nearby so somebody else do it quick!

By the way buzzed drivers are often more dangerous than totally hammered ones... sorry, but no, that makes absolutely no sense. if that were true, then why is the limit 0.08 and not 0.03? the limit is what it is, because of the average of number of accidents according to blood alcohol content. the higher you go by BAC, the greater number of accidents you have. this is literally how they determined what to make the "legal limit" the number of accidents at and above .08 is much greater than under. but more importantly, how is being hammered at the wheel less dangerous than being at a lets say legal 0.07 buzz? I blew a 1.1 and the officer didnt believe it because i was completely sober acting, and never swerved the car or made any move that made me appear the least bit intoxicated. i had in fact, just gone thru a DUI checkpoint and turned around and went back thru to go to the store and none of those officers seemed to think i had a problem.... i have a big problem with people who are too stupid to realize how drunk they are and that they cant handle driving. like i said many cant handle it sober let alone buzzed, but i can honestly say ive only driven a handful of times when i knew i might be beyond my capability (most dangerous one was not drunk, but lack of sleep) and i regret those times, BUT ive driven buzzed a million times and never even had so much as a close call. i use power tools, and even tractors and big machinery buzzed and have never had a problem. so sorry if i dont buy the idea that buzzed driving IS drunk driving, because ITS NOT. and the idea that buzzed driving is somehow worse than being hammered is just... bizarre...

whats up everybody my name is james but everyone on the interwebs and some in the real world know me as Kaymo. someone once joked and said "King Kaymo has all the answers" and i couldnt argue with him so it stuck.
I am a mechanic, fabricator and customizer. I know my way around most things with a motor and can fix things almost as much as i can break things haha. I can weld, fiberglass, bodywork etc, as well as engine stuff, porting and performance mods. I love to build things from junk or older stuff.
I am a little hard on my machines, i expect them to perform at 100% even under abuse. For that reason I am a die hard honda fanatic. I like some chinese stuff because for the most part they copied the best- honda. ive got several machines with honda cub 50 clone engines, including a street legal mini chopper.
I have had a few scoots, my first was a benelli andretti 150xt, but right now have a Honda Elite 80 for DD and several china projects i am going to be putting back together, as well as a couple more hondas (2004 metro2, 86 spree, 1979 pedal moped). i love the elite because its light, handles great, and packs a punch for its size. I maxxed out the speedometer today at 60 at one point, and can do 55 on a flat. thats with stock intake filter and exhaust.
the metro i have had an engine, but it was the restricted 50 and the computer, radiator, and other parts were missing so i sold the engine for more than i had in it and 3 other parts scoots. I have a 90cc 2 stroke cvt motor on a china 4 wheeler that looks to be about the right size and format to swap to the otherwise lame metro
the 86 spree i have is just a frame (and sad seized little engine) but im considering using my parts elite 80 bike to build it back naked style. or maybe even build a homemade gyro? who knows
the 79 (hobbit i think) is the 2 stroke pedal start bike. motor is gone and tank is fubared but wheels are perfect and frame is small and light (and VINed at 50cc)so i am thinking about doing a mini cafe racer build with the largest engine i can pass off as a 50.
the china projects i have are mostly parts, ive been trying to put together a decent frame and body to swap a long case 150 that runs great, but so far i just have a bunch of frames, and some partial bodies, mostly that look bad haha.
I also have a Kymco super9 engine that someone put on a 150cc 2 seat buggy. the 50cc water cooled 2 stroke was quite underpowered but still somehow pulled the large heavy buggy with large tires around. it came with the wheels of the ped, as well as the brakes, wire harness etc. the gauge cluster has an ungodly number of miles on it, but it ran and seemed to decently so I've started plans for a leaning reverse trike. I scored another matching, yet reverse pattern front wheel (so my directional wheels will be correct for trike) and have decided to go for a recumbent position using an aluminum racing seat. I am going to build a triangle truss frame from some small diameter tubing, and see how light and how strong i can build it. eventually i will make a fiberglass shell for it so i can use the water cooled radiator for HEAT and of course any other adverse weather conditions.
i have a lot of projects and partial projects, some give me a hard time for and i dont blame them... but i dont have a lot invested in them, and instead of dumping money into them i take my time building what i can, recycling parts from other projects and looking for cheaper ways to fix and upgrade what is broken. i have access to a machine shop so i can make things work when they normally otherwise wouldnt.
so thats all of my scooter project stuff ive got going on. i have a lot of other interests including three wheelers, four wheelers, six wheelers, offroad buggies, (even a mini jet boat) etc etc so i might not be slamming thru my scoot projects, but I am going to put some focus on them soon as they are piling up and taking up space. I might post a tidbit from another project every now and again for you guys.
oh and im in hickory NC, is there anyone else that lives around here on this forum?
