Ya know, I've thought about that very same thing. The only plus side of the light on the bars, is that it turns with you and illuminates where you're going, while the light on the cowl stays with the direction of the bike. I gotta agree though, they're butt-ugly ;D but the scooter looks nice

I'm glad you don't think so, I hope it doesn't break. Fact is, It's already broken. Why fix it half way? What the factory supplied broke, how is half of it going to do a better job?I fully understand what it is, and what it does,I also have knowledge of the forces it is subject to. When you slam that seat down, Its like hitting it with a hammer, and when your riding down a bumpy road, it sees side to side motions and forces. It" best to renforce it IMO ;D An Ounce of Prevention is worth a POUND of cure

No Loss. With friends like that, who needs enemies? A true friend would have somehow tried to make good for it!

I guess that"s why Honda, victory ,suzuki, and even kawasaki at one time have all attempted to copy harley davidsons. It got so bad, that the harley sound is actually PATENTED. so quite obviously, harleys are no good I'm not saying the guy was right,(far from it) But in the motorcycle world, Harley Is King. the rest strive for that "Status". They say immitation is the best form of flattery ;D BTW-you should fire that guy.... no respect for authority. If he's that familiar with you now. what about in a year?

If I wereyou, I would strengthen whats left. It broke through 1/2 the ORIGINAL plastic. Why would you think that whats left is enough? Beleive it or not, that little peice faces tremendous forces. Both vertical, and lateral.Don't forget, your weight while riding, and all the road vibrations, even when you drop the seat to close it. It needs to be strong. I doesn't support your weight, but bouncing, and road forces make it tend to move around in it's support ;D(not to mention, you don't want some " pond scum opening up your seat to steal all your goodies with little or no effort).

Thats true, but it will probably just break again because 1/2 of the support is gone.Best to fill it with something for strength

That's not nearly as bad as I imagined! you can get some stuff called repairitquick. It comes in like a cigar tube and it's a 2 part epoxy type thing. It's like a putty with a core inside. you cut off what you need, knead it with your hands and sculpt it. This stuff dries Rock hard, and can be sanded and filed to any shape you want. Good stuff too. I once used it to fix a valve stem, and couldnt get it off afterwards, so it stayed, Just fill the hollows with it, replace the pin and let dry overnight

Just because the belt is longer, doesn't make it a long case. The qj1pqmb139 takes an 836x17x30 belt thats actually longer than most long cases. and the long case has an 891. these are anomaly engines, and even the transmission is different. vento uses that motor
