scootnwinn - thanks for that link... at first glance, it looks like most "mechanical" parts are interchangeable with the Adly 50cc.

[replyingto=scootnwinn]scootnwinn[/replyingto]NoNoNoNoNoNo.... Stella is not going anywhere (Thanks) project/3rd scooter. My wife and I both have scooters and want to have an extra one for whenever her brother or my brother comes and stays with us. We need to stay with a 50cc, 'cause neither of them have an M/C endorsement. It looks like it will fit the bill...I just don't want to buy anything that I won't be able to buy parts for or upgrade so that it will better keep up with the other 2 scoots.

I'm thinking about picking up a 2004 Lambretta Due50 and I am completely unfamiliar with them.
It's only got 900 miles on it, appears to be in like new condition and I think I can think the seller is going to let it go for $500... but I do have a one concern.
The seller thinks that it is "vapor locking" as it dies after about a mile or so...let it sit for a couple of minutes and it starts back up. I'm thinking it has to be something else. My concern is this... I'm having a hard time finding parts for this thing. Is the 50cc engine going to be "universal".. meaning am I going to be able to find Big Bore Kits, Exhausts, etc... for this thing? Does anyone know of a website that carries parts for these things?
It won't be a daily driver... more of a project/3rd scooter. My wife and I both have scooters and want to have an extra one for whenever her brother or my brother comes and stays with us. We need to stay with a 50cc, 'cause neither of them have an M/C endorsement.
Thanks in advance for any tips/advice. Kendall

Figured I'd better update this thread just in case someone comes across it and decides not to do business with ScootRS.com because of it.
Well it took just shy of 2 months, but I did get my order... So, I will say that they are a legit company to do business with. Overall I HAVE to give them a thumbs-up. They are very quick to reply to email and they did provide me with a Vietnamese tracking number. My package actually arrived at JFK almost 3 weeks ago and I guess was held up at customs.
So, if you are not in a big hurry to get your item… I would give them a shot. They have a lot of hard to find Vespa/Stella/Bajaj parts. Peace

"A Little Extra" ... I probably misunderstood where he got it from. I was assuming it was the only 2-stroke oil available at a "quickie mart" or something and they usually charge 2 to 3 times as much as they should. Just out of curiosity....I've used MotoMaster products in the past and have never had an issue with them. I wouldn’t hesitate to run that in my Stella (it has an injection system), in fact I probably have. What kind of issues are you thinking he might have? Not disagreeing with you...just curious. My only 2 stroke experience has been from yard equipment and my Stella.

[replyingto=scooternewby]scooternewby[/replyingto]Oh, sorry... So, you just used this for your oil/gas mixture? I cannot see where that is an issue at all then. Probably just paid a little extra for the oil then

Drain it, flush it and then refill with the proper oil now. If the engine wasnt run too long, you are probably okay. (I'm assuming that your scooter has a 4-stroke engine... and that is 2-stroke oil, made to be mixed with gas for 2 stroke engines)

Love the old stuff. I got turned on to Volbeat about 3 years ago through a Sportster forum and then have been my "new" favorite band since. Imagine Dusty Springfield having a child with... Johnny Cash, Elvis, The Misfits and Metalica... that would be Volbeat.

It's because they haven't ridden a scooter.... Or their too insecure to admit that scooters are a freakin' blast. I ride both and have just as much fun on my scooter as I have on my motorcycle (sometimes more). Folks that mock scooters are "inexperienced" or douchebags (maybe both).
