I used to be... until they my entire collection was stolen. People suck.... Now I just read for fun, mainly on my iPad. Sounds like we read a lot of the same stuff.. very little DC. More Batman than Superman. Even though I'm a Marvel guy, The Killing Joke comic/graphic novel is one of the best ever written. One of the coolest things that ever happened to me is related to comics. I was having a garage sale and a guy was buying some of my Hot Wheels and comics for his kids. He asked if I collected and I told him the story about my comics being stolen, but that I still try to by anything with Wolverine in it. An hour later he shows back up and hands me Hulk 181 (the 1st appearance of Wolverine). I was dumbfounded... I tried to tell the guy how valuable it was and that he really shouldn't be giving it to me. He insisted. Needless to say, I gave his kids every Hot Wheel I had in the garage sale. So I guess, not "all" people suck.

This is my 4T Stella. So far I've just done a few cosmetic mods. I'll probably wait until my warranty is up before I start doing any performance mods; hopefully by then there will be some better options. This was the day I brought it home. I had stopped by Metric Cycles to see what they had in stock. They had a couple of 2 tones on the floor, but said they had a black one in the back that was still in the crate. I asked how much... they quoted me $100 below MSRP with no set up or delivery fees... I said "Where do I sign?" Here it is at home next to my wife's 07' Vino. I decided to go for a "Hot Rod" look. I got a little carried away with the stickers... I'm not sold on the Misfits ghostface on the front, that may be coming off. Here are a couple of pics just after I popped on the new whitewalls, powder-coated wheels and hub caps. For giggles, I bought a gear shift knob from Hot Rot Shift Knobs and made a "hood ornament". Wow...probably more pictures than you wanted to see. As you all know, it's never finished.... But that's how Black Betty sits for now.

I want to know, in the first post, the picture after the two Piaggio pages, why the gal in yellow (and in fact, the whole photo-crew) doesn't care about the UFO coming up behind her? Dunno, but I prefer the art over the photos. But that could be 'cause I am an artist. >'Kat If your intent was to send me on a wild goose chase looking for a UFO, girl in yellow and a photo crew.... u have succeeded. ;D

Looks like the scooter won't start now. Originally the owner thought that it was vapor lock. Stated that it would die after 5 miles, but start back up after a couple of minutes. Eventually he could only go a couple of miles, then one mile, then a couple of blocks and now it won't start. A local scooter shop has advised him that it sounds like it needs the top end replaced.... (not a horrible thing, cause I'd wind up putting a big bore kit on it anyways)... but the thing looks new and has only 850 miles on it... I'm having a hard time thinking that it needs a top end. To me it sounds like a fuel/carb issue. Any of you 2-stroke guys/gals have any thoughts... I'm thinking for $500, I may take it on as a project. Though it's no "Lambretta", it looks like a pretty decent little 50cc scooter. Again thoughts and opinions are welcome and appreciated.

It looks like the shop did a poor job prepping the bike. That is cosmoline it is used to protect the bike from sea air. Take it back and let them finish you paid 4 grand for that sucker it should be clean. I agree... Looks like mine did when I got it home. My Stella was actually still in the crate when I came across it. Because I was sitting there waiting on it...I think they just rushed through it. If its a hassle to get back to the dealer...this what worked for me...Bug and Tar Remover, toothbrush, soap & water and about 10 minutes. But, like has been said... You paid to have it prepped, so you dealer should happily take care of it for you.

I have read about Rocketas having a fuel cap issue . Does it have a JOG aka Minarelli engine ? I have no idea... hopefully, I hear from the seller today and he hasn't decided to back out. From the info everyone has given me, I feel pretty comfortable that I can get what ever parts I'll need for it pretty easily. Fingers crossed that I'll be picking it up tonight and then I'll find out which motor is in it. Grrr... work email won't let me look at it. I love the old Lambrettas... never see them around Tulsa.

Yep that seems right. I was afraid there for a minute that I was going to lose the only other shifty dude on here. Its a solid 50 by all accounts. I see you are a Danzig or Samhain fan there, yes? Yep, pretty much a fan of anything Glenn Danzig was a part of up until the mid 's. Love old Misfits stuff and his 1st Danzig album. Saw the sticker on eBay for $5 and couldn't pass it up. You a fan?

Hi That model is basically a rebadged Adly Panther, true lambrettas stopped manufacture in 1971 parts availability should not be too difficult Take care and ride safely my friend Yours Hank Yeah, I thought the guy was joking about it being a Lambretta when I saw his posting. 1st thing I would debadge and refer to it as "A 50cc Scooter"... Could not bring my self to call it a Lambretta. He originally was asking $1250, but when I found out it was having problems running I told him that I liked it, but probably wouldn't want to get into it for more than $500 and to let me know if wanted to let it go for that; that was over a month ago... and last night I got an email asking me if I was still interested. Looks like it might be a neat little bike. Thanks for the info, K-
