[replyingto=oldchopperguy]oldchopperguy[/replyingto] Thanks my Friend. I've been having to put air in my tires everyday. A quick check found the stem to be cracked and leaking. Ordered 2 stems from kurveygirl.

I found a loose hose about the size of the vacuum hose attached to the bottom of the carb. Where does the other end go. There's a place at the top of the carb but that nipple is a little to large for that hose unless something is missing.

No Gas

Sputtering. After I got done with the scooter it ran good for a couple of days. Now it sputters apon acceleration. More so on the load. If you hold the trottle full it get better but still a little sputtering. When I do it in the garage I smell a lot of gas. It starts fine, only upon acceleration do I have this problem. I haven't taken apart a carb for 40 years so I'm a little hesitant and I'm not certain that the carb is the problem. Any Ideas. Thanks.

Alleyoop, Thanks Friend. Today I checked the valve clearence, the intake was at 003, I made it to 004. Ex was at 004, I left that one alone. I also found a lot of loose nuts and bolts which I tightened. Spark plug was at 30, I left it alone. Put everything together and tried starting, wouldn't start, oops, forgot to put the plug wire back on. Retried starting and bingo!!!! Purrs like a kitten. Thanks to all for your input.

I got the scooter to start but can't keep it running. It starves for fuel after about 15/20 sec. I'm gonna try adjusting the valves. I gotta order the parts so this may take a few days. I'll post after done or if I need help.

Thank you to all who have welcomed me to this forum. I'm having a lot of help here in solving my issues with my scooter. I'm impressed with the knowledge on this board. I never was much of a bike rider, however in my youth we used ride bikes in the pineapple fields in Hawaii. That was fun, we'd ride for miles up to the mountains where the breeze was nice and cool and the view was just awesome. Now there are nothing but homes, traffic and people everwhere. I relocated to Las Vegas about 5 years ago and love it here. I'll be 68 soon but still have some time left to enjoy my scooter. I used to be an auto mechanic a long time ago so that helps in trouble shooting problems. Again nice meeting you all. My wife enjoys riding too.

No Gas

I took of the vacuum hose and it's in very good condidtion, no cracks and still soft. I sucked on the hose with it connected to the petcock and gas started to flow nicely. I have the one that you gotta screw into the tank. I'm sorta concerned here is because I really didn't do anything and gas is flowing again. I'm afraid this will happen again. Should I have checked the intake manifold? I'm charging the battery now so I haven't tried starting it yet. I tried the kick start but I really don't know how to do that either. Man, I got a long way to go. I return after the battery is fully charged, might take a while. The charger is very small, came with the scooter. Thanks again for the help.

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto] Thanks for the reply.
I tried that, thinking that I may have created a vacuum. With the cap off, no gas comes out, if I crank it, a little, I mean a little gas drips out. Not enough to start the motor.

No Gas

Hi All,
I bought a tk50qt-9 scooter about a month ago. It had only 250 miles on it and looked to be in excellent condition. A few days ago I had a hard time starting it. Today it would not start at all.
I have gas in the tank but no fuel to the fuel filter. I disconnect the hose to the filter and no gas comes out. I tried cranking the motor and a little gas comes out, very very little. I'm guessing but something must be plugging or the fuel pump is bad (not sure if it even has a fuel pump).
Don't know much about scooters, this is my first, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, fasteddie
