You should keep the battery on a trickle charger to keep it from going flat. Harbor Freight has a really cheap one that works. Also, make sure the gas tank is full to prevent water condensation in the tank. (Using a fuel stabilizer is also a good idea.)

Reality check. When you buy a bike without a title from the person selling it to you something hinkey is going on. And, if the seller tells you it is easy to get a title, then, why did the seller not get one?

Speaking of being a klutz, I think that I have dropped every bike I have had. Mostly mishaps involving the kickstand. Like, kicking down the kickstand, not noticing it sprung back up, and letting go of the bike. Etc.

You are over thinking this a bit. As long as you do not store the extra gasoline someplace hot, like under your seat or strapped to your exhaust, you should be all right. Any crash that is severe enough to break open any fuel bottle is going to kill you anyway.

So kev', did you have to practise much? I remember I started out using my finger to raise my eyebrow. Quickly graduated to forehead muscles. Sad that I probably put more effort into gaining that skill than in learning school assignments.... >'Kat I did not to really practice much, it seemed to come natural to me. |
